Alright, I bought ME2 a couple days ago, I though I was going to get it on PC, but the gamestop sold the FarCry 2 copy they had, so I figured I needed something to hold me off long enough until I get my Laptop. So yeah, the game is absolutely great, The only problem I have is the command system, a bit unorganized but usable, but I've got a big problem, Mass Effect 3...

Something clicked in my head today, as I get further and further along in the game...

I read in a game informer a couple months ago that Cerberus was after shepard in the next game, (Note right now I have never played the first Mass Effect game) But I'm looking at all of the known info on ME3, and I would just like to say the following-

WTF?

Please here me out on this, the main thing I don't like is the squad members-
"While some squad members will be required, and core to the story, some will be optional and others may only be available for a single mission.[8] Project Director Casey Hudson has also stated that Mass Effect 3 will have fewer squad members than Mass Effect 2 to focus on 'deeper relationships and more interesting interplay'."(From the Mass Effect Wiki) Okay, this is what pisses me off, The reason I like ME2 is for the number of squad memebers you have, I liked taking time to build relations with each, and having some goddamned verity in combat. Yeah, you could only have 2 squadmates at once, but mixing and matching was fun, seeing who worked best with your play style, and I like all of the people so far (I think I am missing one or 2 people) except for Jack, she is the biggest ***** in gaming history. If this is supposed to be the best Mass Effect game, why not go all out? Why not throw it all to the end, and actually take time to put a christload of squadmembers, that you can get into a deeper relationships with? why limit yourself?

I mean, from the gameplay I've seen, it doesn't look bad at all- and I'm going to get it, but that fact is going to be annoying me until the game comes out.

Another thing is they put in the return of that Ashley or whatever, now, note again I haven't played the first game, but from what I see in this one, SHE IS A FUCKING *****! If I have to spend an entire game with her on mah ship, I'm going to want to kick a kitten! "O hai sheperd you're back, now I'm going to be a huge ***** TO YOU!" That isn't something that makes me want to welcome her to greatly...

And the cerberus thing sort of gets at me too. I really liked Miranda and Jacob, they made for interesting people to get to know- at first Miranda seems really souless, and not a likable person, but you can sort of break her out of her shell, and see a personality to her very hawt looks. I like Jacob, too. But to know they are probably going to turn on you? WHY BIOWARE?

So most people they have are returning so far, so how do they expect us to get into deep relationships with them, when we already know them, Yeah, you can get further, but not that much further. I mean, that fact just sort of annoys me.

But alas, the game still does look great.
So guys, what's your openion on the squadmates from ME2, and what do you think of ME3 so far?

Maybe you should wait for some more specific information instead of taking very, very limited details out of context.

Although I do have to agree on the squad members. Maybe for missions it works better, but with mostly returning characters there's not much room for development.

Yeah, but still, Fewer squad members, that implies less, something that isn't regarded as moar. In terms of characters with ME2, just as long as they have a nice story/relationship behind them, They make a nice edition, but now with most every squadmember they have confirmed returning, it doesn't make for something necessarly good...

"Note right now I have never played the first Mass Effect game"

That alone renders your points... well, pointless. You would most likely think differently if you had played the first game, considering that 3 squadmates (well, technically 4) from the first game have already been confirmed to return. ME's squadmates were developed very well, and by focusing on a smaller squad, it looks like ME3 is trying the same approach as ME.

Why throw in so many characters and not have the time to develop them to their full potential... again? This is the last game in the series, so they should focus on tying up loose ends instead of creating more.

ALSO, considering the romance options, Tali, Miranda (who, by the way, may or may not be fighting against you; they haven't really confirmed it), Jack, Jacob, and Thane are all very likely to return as squadmates as well. Hell, considering her popularity with the fanbase, Tali is pretty much a GIVEN to come back.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bioware made who joins your squad vary based on your past choices, though (such as romances). All speculation, sure, but I wouldn't put something like that above them.

And come on, Garrus is returning. The only reason you'd have a reason to whine is if they pulled a dick move and didn't have the best character in the series return.

I like Jack. If she comes back I shall be happy.

I don't mind Ashley.

Miranda and Jacob were boring. The less of them the better.

So I'm one happy chappy when it comes to ME3.
