Jon had rested for about half an hour, and felt refreshed, so he went back out into the town. As he was walking round the church, he found Jack filling in a grave.
"Do you want me to give him his rights, brother?"

"Yes, I'm the Chaplain, and I'm pleased to meet you. At least someone in this place cares for the lives of the little people. My name Jon Shannow, and I would be glad if I could call you my friend"

OCC: Agreed with Ravenholm27, I could also use a 'spoiler lesson'

OOC: Tatt, for now, let's pretend the crowd is still there. Making your speech and then having them promptly leaving is a bit unfair.

IC: "Come now, Ace. This is just Hope Falls! Besides, you think the cavalry's going to stroll up to a roving group of Indians brandishing human heads and ask them how their day's going? Please. Looking out for the town's safety would be a great concern for us all, but we surely do not need such drastic measures." Ronald said, with every ounce of charisma he could gather up.

After a contemplative silence, Aczy looked around the crowd and said, "Well, how about we meet tomorrow morning at the Bar, where drinks are 50% off on Mondays, for a town meeting and a vote. Please keep in mind, it's your choice Hope Falls - safety, or chaos."
Ronald didn't like where this was going, but he grumbled and returned to the church, not wanting to continue the argument out of a combination of exhaustion and frustration.

Sweet Jesus, this is a hell of a to do...

While the town was in church, Sheriff Drummond had been on watch. That is to say he'd been dozing on the porch outside his office waiting for the church bells to announce his return to duty. In a one horse town like Hope Falls, that was all you needed.
However, this wasn't an average Sunday. Not anymore.
As the dust clouded horse rider approached the town, Drummond pushed himself off of his chair. A horse coming out of the desert could not be a good sign...

After the poor kid had breathed his last, Drummond pushed his hat up and breathed heavily. Natives? Something had to be done and fast. As he was pondering the situation, he realised that Barkeep Schuyler was spouting more of his crazy ideas. At least Father Davis was staying quiet...

"Tomorrow? You're gonna wait 'til tomorrow? I know you young guns got time on your side, but when you're dealing with the redskins you gotta act fast. Don't worry about a damn curfew, just get a man in the bell tower and a man on the Tavern roof. If the Indians come, sound an alarm. Meanwhile, all of you, stay alert. Keep a gun to hand. And damn well do what you're told! If we're still here tomorrow morning, we get organised. For now, we do what we damn well have to!"

Raising an eyebrow at the dusty, trenchcoat-covered man that entered her bar, Amy nonetheless opened a bright smile, calling a greetings as the man walked up to the counter. "Hello I'm kinda new around here is there a well around here? I need to refill this" He said, showing his empty bottle.

"Oh and uhh is there anyways I can get a soda pop here as well?" He asked, an almost shy smile on his face.

Flashing her pearly whites at the man, Amy nodded. "Out the door and to the left, Mr... I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name. Although, we don't have any soda around these parts. I heard they put up a vendor in Carson City, though. I can get you some... water. Or wine, whiskey, whatever suits your fancy."

The doors to the bar creaked open. Laying a hand against the newcomer's shoulder, she said softly "Hold on a moment, sir."

Amy smiled at the man that stepped heavily through the doors. "Isaac!" She laughed, stepping gracefully around the counter, walking up to the town stablemaster. Playfully pressing her finger into his chest, she put on a fake little pout "It's been a long time since I saw your ugly mug in here!"

Sobering a little, Amy continued. "I'm assuming that the Father made some damn fool speech about going out and huntin' those monsters. What about the boy? Is he being buried?"

Catching herself, she smiled once more. "Ah, listen to me prattle on. What would you like to drink?"

A man named Isaac according to the bar maid had just come in and apparantly were close.
"Uhh I'd just like water then." he said." And to answer your other question I'm Edward"
Taking his water he sat down at an emtpy table thinking over the letter.

"Whomever it was the guy must be pretty powerful, judging by what the letter said its not the first time he's hired someone like me, he's rich and he must be into some sort of illegal activity since he wants me to meet him close to mid night."

Outside the a large man apparantly the bar keeper was making a speech.
"A lock down at eight?" He thought "Hmmm the towns obviously in half over this but never the less I get the feeling that a town gaurd will come of it anyways..... How do I get to the meeting without anyone noticing."

An idea came to mind "If everyone expects me to be there at that time there would'nt be any problem." Smiling to himself he got up from the table.
The Barkeep had walked into the bar already and had gone upstairs.
Asking a local for directions Edward followed and found the right room.
Knocking on it he said. "Uhh hello barkeep? I heard what you said outside and I would like to volunteer for the town gaurd."
Taking sides with someone would ensure that no one suspected that he worked with anyone else.

Ethan Sighed,he knew it was sunday, but he needed a drink. especially after all this. that poor kid brought back memories. too many. he wanted to head into the bar and drink himself into a bloody stupor, but he knew it was sunday. he though about it for a moment, and since he didn't go to church anyway... " the farm's locked up, the animals are fed..." he began listing off every chore and duty he had too do. he was trying to convince himself that he had forgotten some little thing that needed him back at home but they quickly dwindled the closer he got to the door. after all, Miss Reid needed to be talked too, he slowly made his way into the bar, pushing open the door to the saloon. he gave Amy a freindly smile, lifted his father's old hat in her direction, and talked in what he hoped to be a very gentalmenly fashion "good Morning miss Reid".

"Ethan!" Grinning mischieviously, Amy flicked the tip of Ethan's hat with the tip of her finger. "Didn't your mother ever teach you to take off your hat when you come indoors?"

Laughing, Amy sat on the bar, then spun around, facing her patrons. "C'mon, sit down. We'll chat, drinks on me today. It's been ages since we've talked."

Amy's eyes darted towards that newcomer, Edward, as he walked up to Ace's room. Raising an eyebrow, she placed a pair of glasses on the counter, the weight of the knife between her breasts a cold reminder of what things on the frontier could come to.

Issac grinned, "Amy, Amy, Amy" he said shaking his head in mock disapproval. "You know I don't approve of drinking on the job and a stablemaster is always on the job, what with all these cowboys running around" he sighed making a sweeping gesture to the crowd gathered out in the streets. "After what happened today though, I think I'll take a day off from the stables" his face grew grim as Amy inquired about the Father's speech and the boy. "Jack volunteered to bury the lad and I think reverend Jon is helping him with the last rights..the Father though, well, he has some interesting ideas" Ike began. "Come now, this isn't a conversation to be had while standing, I haven't seen you in quiet a while and I am frankly quite parched. Hows about some whiskey?.." he was interrupted by the arrival of Ethan. Amy excused herself to address Ethan.

Isaac nodded at the farmer and signaled for Ethan to join him at the bar. "C'mon, sit down. We'll chat, drinks on me today. It's been ages since we've talked." Amy said as she got to work behind the counter. "You read my mind" Isaac replied with a mischievous smile.

Turning to Ethan he asked casually, "I wasn't expecting to see you in the bar on a Sunday, how's the farm doing?." At the back of his mind Isaac knew that he couldn't stay off the burning topic of the day for much longer. He loathed playing into the hands of the political power play that was heating up between the barkeep and the priest but it seemed that after the days events both sides found new ground to assert their dominance. Usually Ike walked away from picking sides but after one quick look at Sheriff Drummond, he realised that staying neutral, this time, was a losing battle.

He flashed a quick smile to Amy who was pouring the drinks. The town was already divided in its followers and now that division will grow wider. The town meeting was undoubtedly Aczy's publicity stunt but it was the only plan they had for now.

Dastardos Story Update

As the town slowly started to turn to shit everyone started to pick sides. For the moment the Father Ronald kept quiet but most thought he was up to something. Aczy though, he had a plan and he damn well was going to let everyone know what it was. At around eleven the whole town seemed distracted with something. Tim and Edward met at the well for their business conversation but while everyone was distracted, some people decided to have fun.

Under the cover of night some people entered the town. With everyone distracted and with the cover of night they went into the stables. Once inside they slaughtered every horse there. Once the horses where killed, the group scattered the internal organs to spell out This will soon be our town

GM Note
In your next post don't suddenly have an instinct to scurry out of what ever you are doing to find the murdered horses. Continue what you are doing until you are done with it, then deal with this. Also the actions to the horses are thanks to our Antagonist.
Also please stop with all the OOC Conversation, and for the love of god if you must do it, put it in spoiler boxes.

Next morning, Jon walked into the blacksmith
'Scuse me, Mr Monroe, but could you help me out with something? I feel that with the threat of the heathen raiders, I need to help defend the faith, and to do that I'll need a weapon. Can you show me what you've got?"

After the Chaplain said the rights Jack bid the man goodbye and left to finish off the days works, making extra horseshoes and farming tools, along with preparing the metals for a sword to keep at hand rather than his smithy hammer. Afterwards he turned in for the night, he's never been one to drink the night away, it just never appealed to him. Images of the dead boy flashed through his mind taking him to a past he could never forget seeing the home his family was in in flames. The pain of seeing his wife and daughter two burnt husks. He sighed the pain was always there but he accepted it as he accepted a splinter in his finger, with little to no caring. Jack sighed figuring that he'll gather the town gossip in the morning..
