Tales of Vesperia has very few save points early on. Also, it's one of very few games I've played on the 360 that has save points.

I loaded an hour-old save because I messed up a battle that you don't even have to win. [small]I regret nothing![/small]

If the game I'm playing has a quicksave option, my finger is practically glued to it.

Sometimes I even save my game again after taking two steps, for no reason at all.

That's why I play on emulators, with save states.

Yeeeeeeeeeees
I thought about borrowing Persona 4 from a friend and playing it on an emulator first, but after looking on the internet, I read that you'd have to use a BIOS coming from a ps2, which I don't own. I didn't plan to download one (cause it's illegal), but I managed to borrow my friend's ps2 as well.

Haven't gotten far enough yet to get to parts where enemies can instantly kill me, but I can quite imagine that's going to be interesting. I do tend to try overdeveloping my characters before attempting the serious stuff, though. Hope that'll help.
It's not that bad, really. Just remember to save before and after a dungeon. And before bosses.

And whenever you feel like it.

[sub]P3 was a little worse in this regard, in the original PS2 version you couldn't fully control your party.[/sub]

Played Zelda: Ocarina of Time a year or so ago. One sitting got me all the way through the game. I got the light arrows, I ran out of the temple, it froze randomly. I stared in horror because I hadn't saved once throughout the entire game.

I haven't played that game since.

Not a big one but I found out the hard way Half Life one does not auto save. I got to that part where you need to jump on the ladder across the elevator shaft and I missed. I had to sit through the train part all over again.

This happens to me every once in a while in Serious Sam. I'm only sort of serious, so I like to play on the easier settings and just murder tons of dudes. Then I get insta killed by those stupid gimmicky traps and I'm set back ~45 minutes

Final Fantasy VIII. Maybe an hour and 20 minutes since I had last saved and that was it for me with that game. Didn't much are for it, and then after that... well... didn't care for it.

The solution to forgottosaveitus: Quick Saves, bind F5 or another key to quick save and then save EVERY MINUTE! :D (you just have to remember to sometimes make normal saves if you want to keep it for later)

My friend came over one day and started playing Oblivion and when he left I noticed my save file for my character was missing and there were only two save files, both of them his... He accidently overwrote my save. its all good though because my second character wound up becoming way more successful.

Well, I played Fallout 3 recently, so you can imagine how THAT went.

But mostly it's been on work I'm doing for my 3D modeling and Animation class, I'll work for an hour or so, not save the entire time, and go "FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU-" when Maya crashes from the complexity of the scene.

Dear lord Dragon age, and HL 1
Thats more if you have 1 health and it auto saves though, I had to go back half the game.

Mass effect. I lost about 2 hours of progress because the game doesn't have checkpoints apparently.

Luckily for me I died at pretty much the very first place you can so while it was annoying to have to go back to the start, I could live with it.

I hate it when I've been quick-saving all the way, and then I accidentally quick-save in a instant-loss scenario...
