DAO And DAO Awakening: Alistair and Anders?

Just out of a vague curiosity: is there anyone other than me who actually LIKED Alistair and Anders? I can't remember a playthrough when they weren't staples in my party, even when I was the same class as them. I thought the dialogue was hilarious! Particularly when coupled with Morrigan and Sigrun respectively. Does anyone else agree in the slightest?

i actually loved both of them, i love alistair's dry sarcasm, especially when coupled with morrigan or whoever else in the party, they are always hilarious to watch bicker, same with any other party member, and i've only played through awakening twice, but from what i remember anders was also awesome in similar ways.

This! Never played awakening, but since I share first-name with the mage, I am sure he is awesome.

Absolutly loved them personaly, especially Alistair ESPECIALLY The romance with him when I'm playintg a female, it's just so awkwardly sweet, plus I love the snark.

Personally I think a lot of the hate comes from people that either can't handle a male charecter that has more deapth than "Kill maim! slaughter!!" or simply don't lioke the fact you can't convince him at the end if you

I adore Alistair, he is amazingly useful [sometimes as bait, sometimes as an actual fighter] and he is a good person [well, good according to the Chantry, anyway; but it's not like he can help it, he spent a pretty large amount of time there :S].

I usually took them along for tactical reasons, anyway -- Alistair was a good tank, and who doesn't want a mage who can heal the shit out of you?

I didnt hate Alistair, but I could have done with out him. I used him all the time though out of necessity because he was a tank.
