As the title says, how do you think you'll construct your character? Will they be new or a continuation of a previous character you've made?
I'll be using the same character I've been using since demons, Sil, The Lord of Ash.
I explain away his presence in demons as his parents having took him through a portal when he was young due to the dark sign on his back. He completes his adventure, noblely, but declines to be like the monument and sacrifices his power gained from the demon kings to resurrect them and open a portal back to his home world.

Comes back to his home world, but ends up captured and hurled into the undead asylum. Dark souls 1 starts, he uncovers the lore and story in lordran but declines to be the pawn of either the serpents or the gods, choosing to allow the flame to extinguish and, upon being embraced by the ashes, becoming a sort of ash golem. Spends several centuries wandering, eventually wishing to find an end to his curse. But throughout dark souls 2, inspired by his past experiences with artorias and vendrick, he accepts his role as the dark lord, but becomes a vanguard for all races and a defense against manus and the shards of manus. Wishing to find a way to stop the hollowing affecting the undead besides him, being the direct descendent of the furitive Pygmy.

I still want an RPG that lets your character change and be impacted by their world and actions after the loading screen. The Fable series made a lot of mistakes but I always liked that you could get scars or grow or get fat.

As for what my character maybe like at creation, eh, probably female with red hair. I don't really put a lot of forethought into characters. Especially not when I'll be covered by armor for most of the game.

I may do a Faith build if it looks fun. As for what the character will look like? For some reason I like recreating Casca from Berserk in the Souls games.

Dex build most likely with a small shield that's either or comes close to 100% Physical Damage, since it's my go to build.

Or maybe a magic one before they decide to nerf magic to oblivion like Dark Souls 2. Or a repeat of my "Muscle Priest" I had in Dark Souls 1, I had a lot fun doing that... Too bad they decided to change the Mace moveset in 2, there's no Muscle Priest without it's trusty mace, maybe they change again in 3... For something that actually feels like there's weight on it. Please, From?

First character will be a male character with either strength or dex weapons, possibly a little magic for utility and so my weapon doesn't take chunks of boss health. I can't decide until I am physically playing the game. Always do a female mage second, I dunno why.

I'd probably make a Paladin build - strength, armor and healing being the priority. Depending on what classes are offered, I'd grab the closest - which might just be the cleric or knight.

Slightly boring, but effective for winning through with attrition alone, when your skills and strats fail you.

I went for faith/str characters first in both games so far. Will probably do the same in 3.

I'll always go with the same kind of character at first in a souls game. Medium armour, a 2-hander, as large a shield as I can carry, and low enough weight limit to still be able to roll half-decently. (not the fastest roll though.)

Basically a hybrid shield/2-hander build.

The same as DS 1 and 2. Put everything into whatever stat increases Stamina, min-max to extreme levels, then blame the game when I inevitably have to start over.

Simple. Though as a rule of thumb all of my characters are fat. Super fat. Thunderthighs and all.

I will probably build a faith build, it's the only one I think I haven't done yet.

And it will be a female character, obviously. Should make her blonde, because I have done the other hair colors already. But most blondes in games are ugly. :/

Since by the time I finish DS 1 and 2, 3 will have been out for at least a year, my character will have the one gift that the community figured out is the most useful.

I've been having success with a dex build with the smallest shield that has 100% physical, seemed to get me through the earlier game okay, and allowed me to use arrows to take out some bosses. May try a shield-less build if I have enough balls by then

I have to give Dark Souls 2 some credit. I was way more attached to my character. I had the tiger helmet (with altered silver textures), the Farram armor (with red and gold textures), and elite knight leggings and gauntlets. I used an offhand poison whip for style (not very useful unfortunately), and a variety of weapons but mostly one-handed maces and longswords + shields/ tower shields. Managed somehow to have a decent roll speed.

I hope they make quality builds more viable this time around. And limit the number of over-sized final fantasy weapons.

Magic was useless in DSII, as were Dex weapons at first. I started with a dex build, but had to respec to faith. DSII has a long way to go to get back to DSI quality. Hopefully Miyazaki can crack the whip of quality.

It will happen...

One day...

Needless to say I'ma big dumb 2-handed strength main in these games.

Except for Bloodborne... I really loved sticking with the faster weapons (Burial Blade might be my favorite weapon in the whole series).

I'll probably create a character with a terrible sense of balance who occasionally falls down elevator shafts.

Sword and board knight, whilst dabbling in ranged magic as I normally do.

If the Elite Knight set and some kind of crest shield makes it in, once again that will be my main armour as well.
