Dark Souls Builds and Yours As well as bosses

I was around level 80 when I fought gwyn, I remember hearing that the developers were pretty disappointed the way he turned out because his design was any character should be able to fight them on their terms. I mean, it doesn't really matter what you go into the fight with, you'll be able to fight him using your favorite techniques, I thought it was a great fight (music was awesome).

My favorite boss battle was definitely artorias, I didn't know he'd show up in the dlc since I bought the PC version where it never said anything. I had watched some lore videos on him so that fight had some cool backstory to it. The music for that fight is great, the chanting was great.

My favorite sort of build was a light armor polearm equipped warrior with a shield for those moments when it is needed and a talisman to heal me up. The polearms hit hard, far, and fast when you don't miss when using in two hands.

Favorite boss is Sif, he is one of the few bosses in gaming I have ever really felt sad when fighting.

My FIRST EVER build (that I finished the game with) on DS was using the Black Knight Halberd and heavy armour... pounding every enemy into submission with my mighty 2-handed axe/club thing...

The second playthrough was a Faith build where I stood back during the boss-fights hurling spears at them... However I ran into issues against the faster bosses and never managed to get past Smough/Ornstein since I always ran out of spells... Until I specced into Dex and found the Great Scythe... But then it wasn't the build I had hoped...

Lately I've been running around with the Demon's Great Machete and (once more) hammering things into submission with the overwhelming damage it deals, however, thinking about it now, I'll probably make another character and play as a mage/caster not a faith/caster since it's the only build I haven't done...


Favourite Boss? Gaping Dragon...
Sure, it's simple as hell to fight... But, seriously, what was your first thought when you saw it crawl out of the hole?
Mine certainly was "Fuck that shit, I'm leaving!"

I usually go for dex builds. Pop maybe 40-50 points in dex, 30.35 in endurance and maybe 30 in strength. Vitality is for wimps. Usually go with a +15 gargoyle's halberd or +15 great scythe but something like the Balder Side Sword is nice as well for the move set. Gotta say that the halberd is my fave though, good damage and some resistance for free. In terms of armor i usually just +9 the black leather set. Decent protection and light weight. Combine that with ring of favor and whatever else you might need (usually wolf ring or steel protection depending on the situation).

My first time through the game i went tanky as well, but i've realized that high damage and speed is preferable. By far more fun to play this way

Another fun thing i've done lately is grabbing the zweihänder straight off, then going down to the catacombs and getting that thing ascended to fire zweihänder. It's sweet early game. You almost one-shot the taurus demon with that.

As far as favorite boss goes, i'm gonna have to go with Orns and Smough. It's a ***** of a fight, but it also kinda represents what the entire game is all about and it's so great when you get it to work.
