Dark Souls (minor spoilers?)

IIRC it's official release is this Friday but I got it in the mail last Tuesday, only been able to play it since last Friday, so... Anyone else that already got the game?

IMO it's hard as hell, I'm not very far in to the game since I'm getting destroyed by a boss.(might be a boss you're supposed to flee from, going to try that later)

If it's not released, I could answer questions about the first hour of gameplay(up to the point where I'm stuck), and a bit about the character creation.(tip: don't take the health/healing ring, from what I noticed it does not work)

The official release date is tomorrow, October 4th, in America, and October 7th in Europe.

The healing ring really just adds extra hp, instead of giving you an hp regen. And this boss you might have to flee from. That wouldn't happen to be the Asylum Demon, would it? You can fight it or flee from it, but if you flee at first, you can reach a higher area where you can jump down onto his head with an attack that'll shave off around a quarter of his life, or so. I'm eagerly waiting for it. T____T I wish it was tomorrow, already.

After playing the game a bit more, I now finally paid attention to the name of the boss, it's the Taurus Demon. I also know how to defeat it, and I would have if I didn't roll off the side of wherever I was.(yes it's obvious where to go and yes I'm an idiot for not figuring it out earlier)

Not that it really matters, I'm still looking for a class that fits my playstyle. It was royal in Demon Souls, but the magic system is so different that I don't want to start as a caster.(I don't mind the limited casts, but I do mind the long time it takes to cast magic)

You get a non-crap sword, shield, and other various things if you flee at first, too. So...fighting is a bad idea.

The firebombs idea is a good one, but I still haven't learned the demon's attack pattern so I get destroyed by that giant hammer.(read: I wasted most of my firebombs and died) It's actually easier for me at this point to start a new character now that I know how to play properly, than it is to continue with a depleted character.(no inventory items left)

Yes, I suck at this game, it's a lot harder than Demons Souls(mostly because I'm not running around with Warding and 99 gold, white and black healing grass). But I will finish it eventually.

I laughed my ass off at it. But at the same time I wish I hadn't seen it because now the surprise is spoiled. :{

You mean the dragon?

It took me a couple of tries, but I somehow managed to get past that point. I'm still not sure how I managed to do it.
