No K&M support AT ALL?
OK maybe I should have been more clear, the game will not be adopted to K&M controls but rather have it emulate the input as a gamepad, can't tell you what exactly this will result in but it never turned out well in other games.
Well I'm definitely not buying this until it's very cheap.

They've put minimal effort into the online and the controls so they deserve minimal money for me. The menus will probably be terrible.

Is Batman Arkham City/Asylum emulated controls?

Hrmph, it's £30 in the UK, they've only knocked 1/4 off of the RRP for a console game, unlike the 1/3 they seem to have knocked off for Europe/the US, still will probably get it though.

Also, for those moaning about the Keyboard and Mouse support, 3rd person games like this are essentially made for a controller, even if they put effort in I doubt they'd really improve on the K&M controls and it would still be a safer bet to use a controller.

Sounds like a lazy port. It's a shame, I was really interested in it.

Not so much lazy as very inexperienced. It's a bit of a shame, really, but I'll be interested to see how it works out for From Software.

Not lazy more a 'How the fuck do you port games to pc?' issue of the developers.
But they have been open in admitting they know fuck all about pc porting or development and have said openly the port will be far from great which is admirable.

I have no issues, and never have with GFWL. Never experienced lost game save, nor online issues, nothing. For instance, Batman Arkham Asylum/City played simply beautifully. Only thing I had was a freeze-up on installing a patch, but that was probably a driver that installed wrong (Which I dealt with later). I actually wish some games had it I've played. Hell, I had some really bad save prolems in New Vegas with the Cloud save fiasco, which would have done nothing under GFWL. I just never get the huge uproar about GFWL I always see. That, however, is not an invitation to swarm me with your plights, I've read them all many times.

That's the point in GFWL - it's so inconsistent for each different person.

My copy of Arkham City didn't let me save the game at all at first until I did a reinstall.

The second time it was just in offline mode all the time and it didn't let me get any Achievements or access any online features.

This could be a bloody disaster for Dark Souls, locking some players off of large amounts of the game.

I can't really pre-order it. I'll be cautiously optimistic of its release though, so even if I did have the spare money, I wouldn't pre-order it.

I'll definitely wait a little bit for it, depending on how well its been ported.

I'll double dip sometime when I get a better PC.
Also, protip for anyone wanting to play, get a gamepad. Seriously.
I've got a 17 button mouse, I think I'll be fine.
Well, good luck, considering that the game pretty often relies on precision and speed of movement.

Oh no, because as a PC Gamer I only ever play RTS's and MMO's! There's not a single genre of video games other than those than can be effectively played with a Keyboard and Mouse!

Seriously, give it a rest everyone with this insistence on a gamepad. When the game comes out, they will give it a shot and try to get it working on their own settings. If they can't, they can't. If they can, great for them.

Let them figure this shit out on their own.
Alright, calm your tits dude, I was just taking it from the developers themselves who said that it'll control badly on K&M.
Just don't go around complaining about the controls if it does control badly, you were warned in advance.

Everything about it reeks of a bad port, so I decided to get it for the PS3. Pretty sweet game, although a bit irritating when it comes to sidequests and certain battles (which are more cheap/annoying than they are challenging). A surprising amount of lore as well, although its presentation (and depth in certain aspects, I suppose) could use a little bit of work.

I'd say: If you can buy it for a console, go ahead and do so. If you only have a PC, wait for a bit and read up on the game and buy it if it doesn't appear to be a crappy port. GFWL and port problems should arise pretty quickly if that really is the case.

How would having 17 buttons on your mouse stop the problems of a console to PC port when it comes to controls? He was saying that essentially 3rd person games require precision control of your player's and your camera's direction, it's not the amount of buttons you have, there's plenty of those on your average keyboard.

3rd person ports are renowned to be bastards when it comes to PC controls, you may as well warn people because if they for whatever reason CAN'T use the K&M controls and don't have a controller then they're fucked. Stop taking offense over nothing and assuming that he's saying K&M are only useful for RTS and MMOs.

Isn't that release around the same time as Guild Wars 2?
This game is getting a ton of bad PR. I have a feeling this may be From's first/last dip into the PC market
