Well, I've racked up over a hundred hours of gametime now and I have to say I get invaded or summoned quite frequently. But I guess it's a matter of taste. I know I prefer to complete the game on my own and I find humanity to be VERY rare on my first playthrough, and since the game being as hard as it is it gets spent fairly fast resulting in me usually being hollowed when I'm trying to get the bosses killed. I can only assume it's the same alot of others.

I've read if you want some fairly consistant low-level pvp you should join the forest hunters, but I have yet to try and confirm this myself. If you're just looking for a way to get/farm humanity there are other superior ways of doing this.
I advise against this , since forest hunters does not take into consideration characters soul levels , so you might ( and will ) invade people whos soul level is higher than yours.
True that, but as a member of the Forest Hunters you'll invade people who are still low enough that farming there is viable, or simply trying to get to Sif. All the really high levels have moved on to greener pastures, so to speak ;) If they aren't masochistic enough to still farm the forest.

I've also found that the forest hunters are more often than not summoned 2 at a time to defend. just saying.
Well the reason i said that is because , i'm on new game+ , lvl 120 , and last night i was farming there ( ng+ gives you 3 times the exp as the previous time , so i get 21 000 souls instead of 7000) and i went in human and got CONSTANTLY invaded one after the other , but these guys must have been at a level way lower than me because i was taking little to no damage from these guys but i was two shoting them. That and i was getting like 2k-4k exp from them , usually i get 10-20k from people around my level when i kill them . Which lead me to believe that joining the forest hunters is a big risk.
It was the same for me. If you step out in human form, expect a never ending wave of people to impede your farming. Sometimes I'd drop my soulsign just to help others who were entering the forest fend off the never-ending invaders. Had a good # of 2v2's that way, was fun. But now that you mention that the Forest Hunter doesn't care about soul level range.... Might be time for me to have a little homecoming party there. /grin

I've got a good 150+ hours logged now so let me clue you in on a few tips.

If you want to PvP there are set areas + level ranges that the community has chosen. You can find them listed on the Dark souls wiki but here are the two that I frequently use and have never had any trouble finding a game.

Anor Londo on the long bridge with the Gargoyle across from the bonfire ranged 40-60.

Darkroot garden near the 20k souls door, 10 feet from the bonfire. Level range is usually lower 20-60.

Not sure if super high levels PvP in the same spot, since I have 3 level 40-60 characters.
tried both of them using blue eye orb and my last cracked red eye but to no avail :(

Ah that would make sense then. Still haven't started ng+ myself so you're obviously in better knowledge :) Just can't get myself to get to four kings, that place scares the piss out of me!

It would seem weird for the game to match up players regardless of how many times they've completed the game though. Still, 21k per run at SL120 must get really tedious aswell ;)

I haven't had much player interaction, as I've been hollow most of the time. I only go human when I find a tough boss I can't beat alone. So far, I've had good luck finding aids (aids, not AIDS). All else fails, most bosses allow you to bring Knight Solitaire along. While not much help, he is at least a decent meatshield.

BTW, anyone know a good way to defeat multiple of those wheel skeletons? They are the bane of my existence. I can handle one easily most of the time (unless they get locked on my shield which is instadeath pretty much), but when two are after you there is little you can do besides die.

As for the (t)rolling skeletons all the advice I have is to have your back against a wall and pull as few at a time as you can, then just dodge roll at the last second and slap them when they get tired of spinning. I had the fortune of playing a heavier melee-esque guy so had little problems blocking all the damage. But even then 2 at a time was a massive pain, especially the ones in the Painted world of Ariamis(sp).

I am stuck in the painted world, no clue where to go besides that swampy area with the horde of rolling arses that keep making me dead.

The swampy area is definitely the place you're looking for, try looking for a mechanism in the center'ish of the largest room, that should open a path for you to progress. Afraid I don't know how to make those spoiler boxes but this advice is vague enough I think :)

Right, then cross the bridge (look out for the knight at the end) and go through the white light. Right behind priscilla (the boss in the area; she's optional) is a broken bridge. Jump down and you'll be back in anor londo.

Blue eye orb can be used anywhere and always teleports you to Anor Londo anyways, it's also a piece of crap.

Red eye orb was working great for me today at Andor Londo SL 52. I got 8 games or so in while playing magic and occasionally walking over to the tv when it finds someone.

But yeah PvP sucks right now anyways. Everyone is just griefing with the ring of fog. I did do 1500 damage to 1 shot a guy in Havels though, so that was kind of fun.
