MAN... how i wish to be able to play it. I supported the kickstarter... when i claimed the early access t wasn't transfered to my steam-library - and the ticket i opened at humble-bundle wasn't touched for a few days now.

Have fun playing it without me you guys (grrrrrr)
Have you tried the forums (http://www.darkestdungeon.com/forums/)? I swear I saw a thread on there regarding someone not getting their kickstarter steam key. Might be worth a look.

OT: First mission came back with 3 paranoid people and a selfish healer. 2nd mission, selfish healer went out with 2 bounty hunters and a 2nd vestal tanking and somehow made it home. Game does not fuck around being nice. There are some game making tactics available. Perma-stunning the last enemy of a group while you heal up can help a lot in certain positions, but I can't help but feel the game needs some way, however small, to reduce stress regularly while in dungeon. I'm come across way too many fights where one person has broken down and dragged the entire rest of the team with them within a couple of turns.

Loving it so far and im not a fan of the roguelike generally but steam says i've put in 15 hours already! the music the aesthetics and that narrator are all fantastic but the real gem in the dark is the combat system it is shockingly complex and deep, my second game was going amazingly well until week 12 when i had a horrid spate of RNG , i missed everything for like 2 rounds and they all crit panic and mayhem ensued and i was too green and stupid to run so my A-team ended up in the dirt, flipped the table shouted at the monitor and went to bed.

Woke up and had to start again now on week 18 hag and apprentice down but i'm badly cash and resource starved my blacksmith and skill guys are lagging behind dangerously and my sanitarium is overworked and i'm getting more and more heroes with bad compos of quirks.

dont under estimate the value of "pull" skills a lot of the very dangerous mobs need to be at the back to do their devastating attacks, no tempting goblet from the front rank and no blanket fire either, the game really does need to let us see their skills somehow

lack of vestals lead me to find a surprisingly effective team , leper, hellion, grave robber, occultist , excellent tank with with self buffs two dps with the ability to ae or hit the back rank that also have a high bleed resist and self buffs if they do get bleeds that offer great combat buffs so the occultists heal (heals 1-10 but makes them bleed for 3) becomes extremely usable as they often don't get the bleed and can get buffs out of it if they do.

havent enjoyed a dungeon crawler this much since the old interplay bards tale games anyone willing to play a hard game that requires a lot of thought and planning is going to love this and i hope so much that they keep supporting this title i want ALL the content they can bang out.

Okay here goes...

I'm having issues mid-game. I read people saying, lvl. 3-4 is easy and whatnot, but somehow I'm getting decimated in veteran dungeons. I'm bringing in my characters healthy, upgraded to the max (both gear & skill wise), a full chart of positive quirks (negative ones minimized accordingly), trinketed carefully, comps considered also... Still end up crawling home after the first few fights into the dungeon.

I don't really think it's me not getting metagame or battle mechanics, since early game is feeling like a breeze all the time, killing first three bosses with minimal stress, no or very, VERY few heroes dying due to some rng throughout early game, cashflow is steady always in 30-50k domain when my first four heroes hit lvl 3 (I'm making sure it's a viable comp, like Vestal,Plague Doc, Hellion, Crusader etc.)

Any constructive reflection is much appreciated, be it advice, or just questions, as to how I'm doing things specifically to pin-point, what I'm doing wrong, I WANT TO LEARN FROM YOU LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. :D

Cheers!
