For me it's tattoos. Hands down the single easiest way for a girl to get me to look elsewhere. On my scale of ten a tat is an automatic -5.

How 'bout you folks? What's the single easiest way for someone to ensure they don't get a second...or even a first...date?

Hrmm.. I have to like a woman's laugh, because if I don't... that'll kill the conversation, cause I'll be trying very hard not to make her laugh.

you see what i did there?
I did, I second it.

Sure, i think men have a right to prefer the more attractive women (thats why they are attractive)

But a tattoo and and it's an automatic out? man... poor form.

If she's got a tat, I'm going to fixate on it. It's going to draw my attention.

Furthermore it says a lot about the person who decides to get a tattoo in the first place. It speaks volumes about their desire to broadcast to the world, whether the world cares to receive the broadcast or not, and is very inherently narcissistic.

I'm also a big believer in the idea of "the body is a temple, and you don't spray graffiti on a temple." I think the Jews got it right in Leviticus 19:28.

Being extremely introverted myself I have no patience for conspicuous displays of anything.

Thats the whole point of a tattoo. its a drawing feature. your supposed to look at it, ask what it means, get things started like that. also, does that mean that if you meet a girl with a medical tattoo its all over? like a freind of mine who had to have her eyebrows tattooed back on? what does that say about broadcasting?

Back when I actually was dating around and not in a stable relationship, only major turn-off for me was smoking, anything else I could deal with if everything else matched up nicely.

Being mean, as in deliberately mean, to anyone, especially being nasty or obnoxious to someone who is just trying to do their (poor-paying) job.

Depends. I'm not going to date a girl who takes any drug other than caffeine and alcohol (In minimal amounts).

I certainly agree.

As for tattoo's, they annoy me too, but not any more than outlandish clothing (I don't mean clothing that doesn't fit the norm, I mean clothing that looks like it's only purpose is to draw attention), over-the-top hair, etc. If you look like you're trying to draw attention to yourself, it usually means there is little else to notice.

Now, these are all physical things, and these rank much lower (in terms of importance to me) than personality. What I look for is confidence and kindness, and a genuine desire to make the world a better place, even if no one else notices your efforts.

As an aside, when people say you shouldn't judge people by their appearance, and that is true to a point. But when you see someone with a foot-long green-and-purple mowhawk, huge dog-collar spikes and clothing that shows enough skin to make Vincent Bethell blush, you know that this person desires attention, which usually stems from all sorts of feelings beyond the scope of a forum discussion. Note that there is nothing wrong with this, but that this goes against what I look for in a woman, and is thus a turn off for me.

Can't this be summed up as the opposite of the "What are you attracted to?" thread?

Turn off?
Powerful sex drive, shallowness, and a lack of kindness.

That's my turn off in relation to girls...

Haven't given much thought about guys.

What about tattoos that arent normally visable? Frankly, im tempted to tell you to perform a certain act upon yourself with some sort of large implement. i love tattoos on girls myself.

For me, i generally don't judge people on first appearances, since i know a lot of people who look normal, and i know a few people who look decidedly Not-normal, but they all seem to have a side i like...
I'm just one of those people who doesn't really Not like someone unless they find a reason to not like me first... if y'all could follow that :p

Back on topic... if i Had to pick something that just really doesn't do it for me... i guess it's just something that some of the girls do at my school...

Allow me to expand :p

In the place i live, it can get down to (approx.) 8 degrees up to 40 depending on season... Being winter where i live, and our max today was a (fairly) bitter 11 degrees... there STILL managed to be small groups of girls, just every now and then, walking by wearing their summer skirts approximately 2 cm's from showing their parts for all to see...
That's without them having to bend down to their lockers :S
I mean, Seriously. 11 degrees, and they Still decide to show as much skin as possible...

So, number 1 thing i spose, is people who don't dress smart lol...
Doesn't bother me if you dress like that in summer... in fact that's good :p
But on a cold day like today... you just look stupid...
Sorry, that's just what i think lol :S

It varies girlfriend to girlfriend. I usually avoid whatever I hated most about the last one. However, I really hate demanding, bossy, "I can change him!" type of girls. For whatever reason they seem to fucking love me, though. I guess because I have a lot of things someone might want to change or whatever. Drinking, smoking, etc.

The worst part is most of those girls are really hot so I always try to date them just long enough to see how good the sex is. One actually got me to stretch it out for about six months before I finally gave up on dealing with her "You should really start college!" deal.

ETA: What's really funny is I typically find myself attracted to "good" girls. Been dating one now for over a year. Doesn't smoke, no tats, hardly ever drinks (and even then only a couple), and she's a god damned elementary teacher! Opposites or something, I guess.
