I cannot be the only one thinking that the whole 52 trick is a very thin ploy to pull in more readers without actually doing much about the whole problem of continuity that they said they wanted to fix. I've been reading the new ones and in most of them there isn't much of any rebooting done.

Doesn't bother me too much. I've only recently got into comics and the new 52 thing has provided a great opportunity to read some DC stuff

Me too mostly.
But seriously you haven't noticed that they keep making references to old stuff that happened.

Well I've only be reading Detective Comics, Action Comics and Suicide Squad. The only knowledge you need to read Action Comics and Detective Comics (to me anyway) seems to be what you get from films and the like. Suicide Squad has been making perfect sense to and I'd never heard of it before my friend told me to read the New 52.

Suicide squad is new. But I actually noticed it more with the other batman comics and especially the lantern ones.

Suicide Squad isn't new, it's been around in some form or another since the 50's. As for the Batman comics? Batman & Robin was OK I guess, but yeah Batman was just not a reboot at all. Why were all the Robins in it? And I haven't read Green Lantern.
