DC Universe Online, Any other Escapists even slightly excited?

I would be more excited for the game if I got to play as a Green Lantern. I'm still excited for the game though. I don't get it until the 20th, damn you Australia.

On steam it says it comes out tomorrow.

OT: Yes I am excited for this game, ever since I heard about it halfway through last year

EB Games and JB HiFi are saying next week on the 20th. Steam is US based so maybe we can get it through there early?

God I hope so.
If I find out tomorrow that I have to wait like another week I am going to kill someone.
But I pre-ordered it on steam and it says it's available

Here is hoping that works. I was holding out for the collectors edition in stores but I'm not sure if Australia gets that.

I have the same problem I have been waiting for this game for over 3 years, it looks amazing in my opinion, I love the idea and the license...but recently i put a ten day trial on my old wow account...the addiction is kicking in, so today instead of the planned visit to the store to buy DCUO im buying cataclysm. yay

Cata is awesome! The game has changed so much for the better. You won't be disappointed

I think I might grab a copy of DCUO from Steam and give it a go. If its $49.99 for the game and a month play and I don't like it well... I've spent more to be entertained for less.

I think the release date for hard copies differs, but the servers go up today. So digital distribution will get you on earlier with any luck. Or at least, I hope so. As for the complaints about a fee, do people not understand how MMOs work? *sigh*

Im excited, my friend is in the beta so i got to play a bit and its awesome. The character customization is detailed and brilliant and the parts i played were really fun. The opening cut scene is badass...

So the loggin servers are working, but the world servers are down. I am pretty psyched that it will be running once I get back from work in four hours. Winged, meta with fire or psychic powers and a bow, hear I come. ^^

But that's just it, I want to try it before I buy it.
As far as I know, there is no Free trail yet.
And I'm not spending 45 euro's on a game that I might not like.

It's waiting for me at home. I've got it for the PS3 though - I've heard that the controls are a lot friendlier to your hands, fingers, and joints on a controller. Plus I like the whole idea of MMOs being developed for consoles for the reason it will give the genre a wider audience.

It should be able to hold me over till TOR is released, not to mention how much fun WoW has been releveling through the new 1-60 content.


I'm torn about whether to be a villain or hero first to be honest. Though I'll probably end up making a female villain, and a male hero (I always end up making an idealized version of myself if I make a male avatar so it'll be easier for him to be a hero than a villain).

IDK. I've played a couple of good MMOs that didn't have a monthly fee. And I got to say, I would be interested in this if it wasn't for the fee.
I understand how it's necessary sometimes. It just seems like they're asking for failure as they're putting this on a network that drew a lot of people due to it's lack of fee.
It's definitely one of the reasons I have a ps3 instead of a 360. If this was a 360 game, it would have a much better chance of success.
Just seems like a shot in the foot.

I'm very much looking forward to picking this up for PS3. It'll be my first MMO, and I'm expecting the action orientation of the gameplay to ease me into this new genre.

I was about to comment saying that I have a friend who's really excited about it; so excited to the point of wetting himself. Or maybe killing himself through suffocating on the amount of excitement within him
