Well, with the exception of GfWL, the port of Dead Rising 2 wasn't bad as far as I could tell. Had some issues with detecting anything that wasn't an official 360 gamepad (including not being able to detect third-party controller), so I am confident that it won't be horrible (like, say, Watchdogs)Glaice said:If they don't screw up the port, then it could be a hit on the PC.
It just shows that M$ is not even willing to have true exclusives anymore, just pretending. 'Time limited' is just another way to say 'not exclusive for long'. So much for X-Bone sales this Summer.Steven Bogos said:Dead Rising 3 is one of Xbox One's more powerful exclusive titles, so having it available on the PC as well is sure to hurt its potential sales.
Super poorly optimized. Badly designed engine basically. Instead of building the engine with all the graphical tricks in mind, they took a basic engine and started piling on the effects later on. So it runs like arse, has massive framerate dip issues and pop-in to the point where it affects gameplay.Azaraxzealot said:On the steam store page it says it needs at LEAST a Radeon hd 7870/gtx 570? Holy shit that's demanding! I thought my 7850 would last at least 2 or 3 years but I guess not D: is this game just super poorly optimized or do you all think that it's really THAT demanding?
Not to be "that guy", but a PC version, assuming the port is decent, will be better than the Xbone version. Better graphics, better frame rates. And you can still play it with a controller.Evonisia said:If this is true, then cool, good for PC gamers. Granted I can't imagine what playing a Dead Rising game would be like on PC and frankly I don't want to. I'm happy with the version I got eight months ago.
Oo, that's a bold statement. Meh, most people didn't play the first one anyway.Steven Bogos said:perhaps we'll see the original (and best) Dead Rising too?
there was a debacle about staff breaking the rules and not getting equal treatment couple months back. it ended with Greg Tito getting a warning. Nice to see they are not above the rules.Saulkar said:Wait, what? You can get warnings Bogos? Hmmm, thought you were immune.Steven Bogos said:LE SHNARP!
erm, CryEngine 3 has been released this year, and its quite a ground up reworking since CryEngine 2. Watch Dogs run on a hybrid engine. its built from ground up, but they incorporated functions from both Assasins Creed engine and Far Cry engines. Sort of took parts they liked, changed the rest. It is technically a new engine, and one that Ubisoft plan to use for further games.Cerebrawl said:The only really next-gen engine as far as I'm aware, which was built from the ground up with all the graphical tricks in mind... is the Cryengine... which was released in 2007. I wouldn't be surprised if Watch Dogs is running on the same engine as Assassins Creed IV.
It was most likely just a timed exclusive with an agreement that it would never show up on the PS4. Though EA clearly hitched their cart to the wrong horse here.RicoADF said:Let me guess, the game didn't make it's 5 million sales Microsoft promised?......
.... Yeah I know, any lower and the fruit would be on the ground.
Who knows, maybe Microsoft includes an outright denial clause in their timed release clause that enforces this kind of lie.mysecondlife said:http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.826552-Dead-Rising-3-wont-be-a-timed-Xbone-exclusive
I guess they were confident that Xbox was going to have higher installation base than it currently is now.
Although its nice to know that I don't have to get an Xbox to play this game. Still not interested however.
I figured that was the case, just had to take the piss out of Capcom and Microsoft at how stupid turning a sequal to a multi platform game (Dead Rising 2) into an exclusive.Lightknight said:It was most likely just a timed exclusive with an agreement that it would never show up on the PS4.
