Quite a delicious teaser! Also, Isaac Clarke has a face now, and he looks pissed because his wife won't let him go. Women...

I preferred him when he was a faceless protagonist.

I loved Dead Space so I will definitely be getting this. Just please no crappy, shoved in multiplayer

EDIT: Actually, scratch that, after watching the trailer a second time, I disagree with my first statement

Isaac Clarke already had a face.
He took off his helmet at the end of the first game, right before the credits.
It was something of a disappointment, I'd thought him rather hawt before that...

Anyway, don't even need to watch the trailer to know that I'm going to love this game.
But I will anyway.
Really? I don't remember this at all. Right now, he looks...I don't know...lawful evil!

Have to say, the trailer looks pretty good. The rorschach tests were well animated, the monsters looked creepy and with Nicole's voice we can tell that ominous stuff is on the horizon. Plus I get the feeling we heard Isaac's voice, leading me to believe that he'll have a prominent speaking role in the game, not sure how it'll work but it should be interesting finding out.
I'm pretty psyched about this game.

Isaac had a face in the first one... and unlike what has already been mentioned you could see his face before he first put his helmet on in the beginning, just move the analog stick that controls the camera.

Oh, and admit it... you all thought he was dead didnt you.

Well, I have maintained from the moment I saw the ending that he didnt die. The clues are in the symbols you see on the televisions in the control room when you are hallucinating, those very same symbols appear before the final cinematics close. I put the pieces together and figured that he wasnt dead... I know, I rock pretty hard.

Just finished the first and I'm looking forward to this.

Hopefully Isaac gets to punch some Unitologists in the face.

Holy crap, that is epic. I loved the first one and this looks like it's going to be great.
Loving the new armour, and I just pray they don't turn it into a mainstream shooter.
Dead Space (up until Bioshock II) was the only game that for me, could rival the sheer horrific story of System Shock II, and was in many ways similar.

Wow. I do honestly think that the Dead Space franchise is the modern day equivalent to the PSX's Resident Evil. Can -not- wait.

Also. Those symbols at the end. They might just be translated as Dead Space 2, but being a bit an overthinker, could it mean something else? Anyone aware of any codex showing different symbols translated meanings?

Totally different deal dude. Bioshock isn't a scare fest. As for Bioshock 2...I finished it only recently, since the reviews were not too amazing and I was a bit afraid that it might ruin the great aftertaste of the first game for me. What can I say? It completely blew me away. The story was so much better than the first game and so much more emotionally engaging. I cried like a little girl after the "good" ending, and that's not something I do often (if ever).

It's funny how Isaac is just some engineer who had the misfortune of going to some batshit insane spaceship.

This trailer is very cleverly put together, I love the Rorschach tests, it lets each viewer take a unique perspective. After seeing Isaac's face at the end of the first Dead Space I knew it would split opinion, take Master Chief for example, players feel more of a connection with him, as he remains faceless. However I think that Isaac felt less 'human' and needed a face to make him more believable as a character.

I was referring to the story, how they managed to keep it going.
I was the same as you. For me, I thought Mass Effect II would be awesome and Bioshock II would be crap.
I got bioshock for $18 brand new and I fell in love. Not once did it feel like a retread, it was a sequel in all the true possible ways. Great story, severely altered gameplay, and even severely improved gameplay. Even multiplayer is more fun than team fortress 2 (just a shame the matchmaking is shit).
As for Mass Effect II... well it so far is my most hated game this year.

I still think they're trying to have their cake and eat it too (ignoring how silly that expression is). They wanted to have Isaac die at the end of Dead Space, spoiler warning, but at the same time they also want him to return in the second game. Yeah I know, what we saw before the credits was just his hallucination/dream/yadda, but it still feels a bit lame.
I'm really looking forward to this game though!

What does the voice in the background say before "Where are you going?" Something about a whisper? I can't make it out!?

Thank God he's got a face and a voice now. Maybe then when he gets glimpses of his wife, he won't just stand there looking at her not saying anything. Maybe we'll have some emotional connection to him. I'm getting hyped for this game and that is not good.

One thing I hope they stick with is the horror. They said in the GameInformer article that people thought the first game was too scary... well I hope they make this one even scarier. There are enough third person action games on the 360, I want a good horror game.
