Dead Space 2 is coming out next week and i am considering pre ordering the collectors edition, but is it worth it? also, is it easy to get a collectors edition after the game comes out or do i need to pre order it to have a chance of getting it?

No idea how easy it will be to get the Collector's, but it comes with the soundtrack and a mini-plasma cutter and I think an artbook. One of the best values since Mass Effect 2. How much do you care about the game?

Yea, it "looks cool" and all. But what you're going to do, is take one look at the "plastic plasma cutter", and that's it. Back in the box or on some shelf it goes. So unless you have money to burn, there really isn't any point to getting it, imo.

I know that when I go on the Gamestop website, it says that pre-orders for Dead Space 2 CE are out of stock. I pre-ordered mine before even finding out about all the bonuses, 2 months before they were leaked in fact. Dead Space is one of my all time favorite games, so when I heard Dead Space 2, I jumped all over it.
There's a lot of things with the CE: You get a collectible replica Plasma Cutter (Which I'm pretty sure isn't a miniature, because it features trigger activated LED lights), you get Issac's Unitology suit and the Force Gun, you get the Rivet Gun if you pre-order at Gamestop, you get a piece of concept art depicting the transformation into a Necromorph(or something along those lines...)and you get the soundtrack to the game.
To me, it's worth it. As far as still pre-ordering one, I doubt you'd be able too this late, not the CE anyways. But, they always have extra collector's editions for the games for sale. At my Gamestop, they have the CE of Tron: Evolution, the CE of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the CE of New Vegas, and the CE of Cataclysm all on sale. So if you really want to get the collector's edition of Dead Space 2, I wouldn't worry too much about availability just because you couldn't pre-order.
