Probably the same reason I'm not really going good with my run through of DS1. I know what I'm in for and i really dont feel like it.

Yeah cute, you wanna try reading the rest of the thread? Or is pushing through a conversation not your strong suit?
I did and all I see is that you give up when you hit a snag. I had the same issues as you did and I worked them out and managed to finish the game multiple times on PC and console, so my only conclusion is that you give up too easily.

1. Id really like it if looking through your inventory paused the game.
It's one of the ways the developers wanted to maintain immersion, Deal with it.

2. Yeah i get it they jump out of vents cant we do another dance now?
This has been said so many times before. Find something better to complain about.

3. The captain you came with is an idiot.
I'd like to see you do better in the same situation.

4. You know i bet if i stopped playing this i might be able to just watch a horror movie and punch myself every few minutes and id get the same effect.
You're the one playing the game, you can stop any time you like.

Oh and the upgrade system is stupid.
And by 'stupid' you mean you don't like it because it's original and you don't like games that try to do things differently. Right?

I can't recall ever having control problems with Dead Space, at least nothing that a bit of tuning in the options screen couldn't fix. In fact, the controls are more shooter and less horror, being so precise...

I'm having a huge problem with DS2. PS the controls stay the same, clunky as shit. But while I replayed Dead Space half a dozen times, I'm struggling through one playthrough of number 2. I have no idea why.
Make sure that your aiming mode isn't set on 'classic'. It makes thing more difficult than they need to be.

Also, by chapter 7 the difficulty jumps up a notch so be prepared to conserve ammo and health. Not easy to do on your first playthrough, I know but things should be easier when you go new game +.

NOTE: The Seeker rifle does a shitload of damage and ammo for it is cheap. Make sure you have it for the final boss.

::Sighs::
1. Its annoying and im kinda tired of trying to check my ammo and a vent opens so i have to try to fight through a HUD
2. Doesnt make it any less true now. but ok, the over the shoulder camera makes Issac into a huge visual problem. if they wanted immersion they could have gone with first person.
3. Id have turned around and left.
4. I did, i might try again tomorrow.

Original and good are 2 different things. Its a rather stupid system where you gotta map out a rather wierd interface on weapons that are already pretty ineffective and make them equally ineffective but now you can waste more bullets.

So far this isnt a 'give up at any snag issue'. Im not having fun and a game that doesnt cause me to have fun is failing at its job.

I always said that Dead Space and Resident Evil 5 would be better as FPS rather than over-the-shoulder. I really don't even see the point of making it like that, and both games have the player turn really slowly.
