Deadpool will be star of his own videogame if Raven Software gets its way, according to UGO.

Raven Software likes Deadpool and his "smartass attitude" and as such, the studio is looking into making a Deadpool game in the same way we had X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

However, if such a game does get the greenlight, it'll be based on Deadpool from the comics rather than Deadpool from the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie.

As far as we know, the only Deadpool appearance on Xbox 360 to date is as a playable character in Marvel Ultimate Alliance. The developer for that game? Raven Software. Clearly, they like the guy. But is he popular enough to warrant his own game?
http://www.oxm.co.uk/article.php?id=10109

The developers behind X-Men Origins: Wolverine want a go at the Merc with the Mouth and that's just a fraction of what Dan Vondrak, the game's project lead, told us about his future with mutant based videogames during an interview yesterday.

When asked which character his team would love to tackle next, Vondrak replied:

"That's very easy, that'd be Deadpool. We're huge fans of Deadpool. When we made X-Men 2, we made sure to put Deadpool in there and give him plenty of little Easter eggs and conversations. We love the character. His smartass attitude. So that'd be the guy we'd probably go after."

And how does the dev feel about the Hollywood-ized Deadpool in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine film?

"What can I say, I'm a guy who likes the original stuff the most. I like my Deadpool the way he is in the comics," said Vondrak. "I wouldn't necessarily say that's exactly how he's used in the movie and eventually the game. It's a cool concept for sure. It's just maybe not the first choice I would have made."

So if he got to make a Deadpool game, we could hope for something a little more traditional? "Absolutely 100%," Vondrak said. Can you hear that? It's the sound of a million comic book fans breathing a sigh of relief.

A comic nerd in his own right, Vondrak happily answered our many fanboy questions. Like how do you kill Wolverine if you can't cut through his adamantium spine? "Drown him." What villain can we expect in a possible X-Men Origins: Wolverine sequel? "Silver Samurai." And what was the most goretastic sequence that didn't make the final cut of the Wolverine game? "One of the original ideas was Wolverine throwing himself into a 737's jet and taking it down. And that ended up being kind of what we did with the Sentinel battle.

Personally I wouldn't buy it, I don't think superhero games are very good. Wolverine was one of the better ones and all it merited from me was a resounding "meh..."

He's certainly going to be back in Ultimate Alliance 2.

They should write all his dialogue to show that he thinks he's the main character

I dare you to play X-Men 2: Rise of the Apocalypse. I double-dare you! Do you read Bible?!

*bla bla bla*

AND I WILL CARRY MY VENGENCE UPON YOU!! *BLAM BLAM BLAM*

Just kidding, but X-Men 2: RotA is a freakin awesome Hack and Slash.

Also, Deadpool is in it, from what I've heard. I forgot where I put my CD, so I can't finish the game to see it...

Deadpool is the coolest non-mainstream character ever. The first time i ever saw him was in Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

What were they supposed to do for you? Your homework? Laundry?

Those two games (X-Men 2 and Marvel Alliance) prove that hero games (as long as they are not film tie-ins) can be good. As long as Raven makes them. I mean, they even made the Wolverine game playable. I think that the game got better reviews than the movie itself, actually.

Actually, thats relative. You believe that they proved it can be good, I think that they were shit. So its relative to the individual.

It works both ways with opinions, why respect one persons opinion over a group of others? But you must also not let people think for you. I used to go by reviews from gamespot and they gave some game a horrible review, I decided to try the game thinking "what the hell, I may as well try it". (gamefly really helps with that mentality) and I loved the game and I could not believe it was given a poor review. Maybe my little anecdote will help some people think for themselves and try a game they think will be interesting.

Ah, so you're the kind of person who won't like anything popular just because it's popular? I hope you see the irony.

I knew there was a God, I just knew it...

Seriously though, this sounds plain awesome, especially after playing their Wolverine game. One thing I hope they do, is allow you to use your blown off limbs as weapons to beat your enemies to death with. That would just be awesome.
