See that? That right there? That's a lie. I refuse to believe that so many groups in Norway would use Deaf if it was a taboo or forbidden word. There's a difference. I DO believe in different cultures. The funny thing is, that has no bearing here.

You're just accusing me of that because you have no response to the obvious flaw in your claims: A massive presence of the word in your own culture despite your claims.

If I claim my homeland has .0001% unemployment and we all ride winged ponies to work, the fact that "I live here" doesn't change the fact that these claims are easily dismissed. It's neither ignorant nor xenophobic to dismiss false claims when such claims are readily dismissed.

And since you cannot explain what's with all the usage of the word in your country despite your claims, well....

I feel I am stuck in an endless loop where I keep telling you to believe what you want to believe. The difference between you and me here is that I am not trying to convince you of anything. I wont gain anything from you believing that calling deaf people for people with hearing deprivation is proper, I don't care what you believe why would I insist on someone from a different culture know the ins and out of my culture? That's not a rhetoric question since you seem to insist that I know yours while claiming you know mine. I am ignorant of what's proper to say or not where you are, I am not afraid to admit that. I am not afraid of being wrong. I repeat, believe what you want to believe, but don't be surprised when you find yourself unable to push your beliefs on someone.

Well, not anymore.

The thing is, I'm not really trying to convince you of anything, either. I'm asking you why, if what you say is true, there are so many Deaf orgs that use the word.

why would I insist on someone from a different culture know the ins and out of my culture?
I don't know, why were you brow-beating me for being an American and thinking the US was the center of the universe, even though it was false?

Further, why did you care enough to lie as much as one post ago?

I am not afraid of being wrong.
Except when it comes to an obviously false statement about your own culture.

Again, I ask, why do so many Deaf orgs use the word Deaf and the equivalent Dthetav? Why do so many Deaf folks in general? If I can find dozens on Facebook, and large communities on the web, that points to a prevalence of the word that directly contradicts your statements. And despite your persecution complex, this isn't about trying to convince you I'm right, but rather dispute and disputable statement.

Answer the question, plz.

Pointing is also banned in schools (also looks like a gun)

and thumbs up (looks too much like a bomb)

waving (looks like you're trying to sideways karate chop somebody)

holding a pencil or other writing utensil (looks too much like a sexual act)

putting hands in your pocket (looks like you have a concealed weapon)

Actually, while in schools, you must keep your hands firmly on your hips at ALL TIMES, otherwise you will be expelled for threatening behavior; can't be too careful.

I am wrong about everything I have ever said, I know nothing of deaf people or my own culture. I think we're done here.

Or you could just answer the question at hand, rather than false contrition to points I never argued.

I'm surprised this isn't already in the rules.

Any answer I give you gets dismissed as a lie. I'd rather have you believe that I am wrong or that I have been lying or trolling than trying to reason with you. So I admit that I am wrong since I am not afraid to do so.

Pretty much just the ones where you lie about my motivations.

I'd rather have you believe that I am wrong or that I have been lying or trolling than trying to reason with you.
You never tried to reason with me. You shouted that I was ignorant of other cultures, that this was an Americanism, you accused me of things I never said and positions I do not hold. What part of that is reasonable.

So I admit that I am wrong since I am not afraid to do so.
Evidently they are just so many empty words to you.

I mean, you could simply answer my question, or you could offer false contrition because you are secure in the knowledge you are not wrong, you are just trying to avoid the crux of the argument.

Just like you did when I brought up the flaws in your argument that they were preventing Deaf people from communicating.

So, I ask again:

Again, I ask, why do so many Deaf orgs use the word Deaf and the equivalent Dthetav? Why do so many Deaf folks in general?

I have said that I am wrong, what more do you want from me? I'll even throw in an apology if you promise you'll leave me alone.

You know I said I was wrong about everything I have said in this right? As in the things that I have said should be disregarded due to them being incorrect? Why are you so eager to continue this?

Why are you so eager to play the martyr when all I want is a simple answer?

False contrition is not the solution.

Uhm, I am eager to play martyr? Where did that come from? I am eager to never discuss this topic ever again. I don't fucking care one bit about this discussion and I said that the first time you quoted me and started this whole pointless discussion.

I was wrong as I have said 2 times before. Deaf is not an insult in any part of the world, deaf people sue the word deaf because deaf is the proper term. Now please just fucking drop this.
