I own all the gaming consoles - but I feel from a straight up - fun games standpoint the Wii is the best of the three.

At no point in my post did I say it was acceptable. You're talking about using archaic methods to improve the ventilation. The size of the case isn't the issue? How do you plan on fitting these myriad extra fans you want to ram in there without doubling the size of the case? You can talk about improving the heatsinks and what not all you like, but even the best thermal paste in the world isn't going to help when there's no where for the air to go. The problem is that it produced too much heat and couldn't cope.Bludge said:So you are saying that its ok to sell something that doesnt work as intended if the price is acceptable? and its not even the size of the case thats the issue. how much do you think using better thermal paste would cost? how about adding a couple of 60mm intake fans at the front of the case? or making adjusments to the heatsinks and shroud system? what about using a better system then the flimsy x-clamps? thats gonna drive the cost up exponentially is it?Nifty said:The consumer is ultimately responsible for the poor state of the early 360's. The 360 needed plenty of ventilation and required a much bigger case but who would buy a console the size of a modest bookshelf? The current slim gen of the 360 is the console it should always have been but the technology was not able to make it available without driving the cost up exponentially; which the average consumer wouldn't tolerate.
Microsoft charge for a premium service, you get plenty of bang for your buck and from my experience a more stable service than PSN.
Microsoft aren't responsible for developers choosing the gamer to host their own multiplayer games.
Microsoft aren't responsible for Activision charging silly money for their games and how often they release DLC.
Microsoft aren't responsible for YOU buying your children games. I'm curious to know if your son is even old enough to be playing CoD games, in which case, you're at fault again.
They way you see it is skewed, deal with it.
Well you can always look that up on the website, I'm not going to try and sell it to you. At the end of the day, Microsoft sell the console at a loss (and pretty cheap compared to even the budget PS3) and try to make it back on the subscription service. You don't have to use the Gold service and if you don't plan on going on multiplayer games anyway, it's no loss. If you do, you pay the fee. Don't like, buy a PS3.whats the premium service if you dont mind my asking? name one thing that the xbox does on its live gold subscription that i cant do on my pc for free.
Well, not really. They're putting a value on multiplayer access and the gamer is paying for it, you can argue whether that's right or wrong all day but it's not going to change anything. End of the day, if you don't like Microsoft's rules, you don't have to buy their console.Your missing the point on the servers, if microsoft are charging you to play online, then they should be providing servers. what they are doing is charging the gamer money and providing nothing of value for the price.
You don't need a Gold account to purchase DLC. Presumably if you're buying DLC for a multiplayer game, you've already got Gold any way. I'm not buying this weird conspiracy theory though. Developers release DLC to fill their own pockets...i know microsoft arent responsible for what anyone charges for their games, and you missed the point again there. im saying that when dlc and whatnot is only available via a live gold account, it points towards companies being offered rewards to make sure people continue to pay their live subscriptions, or are forced to sign up if they want a certain DLC package.
Oh, so I did. What would you prefer then? Psuedo-son-in-law? Son in kind? Either way, I'll take that as me being right on both counts.you obviously didnt read my post properly, because i dont have any children. Therefor im not even going to respond to the final part of your post.
Fallout New Vegas is better than fallout 3 and is negliglibly more buggier than Fallout 3 was at release. Deal with it.Kortney said:Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas are better games than their archaic prequels.

I dont like to make assumptions, but im starting to get the feeling that you dont know what you are talking about.Nifty said:At no point in my post did I say it was acceptable. It doesnt matter why they are selling the live service, what matters is that you are paying for a service that is free on every other platform.Nifty said:Well you can always look that up on the website, I'm not going to try and sell it to you. Yeah, multiplayer access that you are hosting on your existing paid for internet connection.Nifty said:Well, not really. So you acknowledge that microsoft are selling the xbox at a loss, and in your own words they are trying to make the loss back from the subscription fees, yet you cant accept that there is a possibility that microsoft are offering some sort of incentive for game developers adding mechanics to their games that would encourage people to continue to pay, or sign up for, a gold account?Nifty said:You don't need a Gold account to purchase DLC. Im not going to get in to an argument about parenting. if you tell me that you have children of your own, or you have been in a serious relationship with someone who has, then i will be more inclined to discuss the matter.Nifty said:Oh, so I did.
