Is it annoying? Yes. Could it be better? Yes. Do I still deal with it because it takes all of 10 more seconds to put in my actual birthdate rather than just scroll down to the 1980's? Yes, yes, yes.

It's the same way with most adds the Escapist has. They may be annoying for the 30 seconds you have to deal with them, but they keep the site free and running for me, so I'm not going to complain because it inconveniences me for the half a minute I must watch the video.

I know it's a legal requirement but couldn't they spare registered members that hassle? I mean... if I've linked my facebook account I'm pretty sure they know my age... Of course I don't really mind doing it, but it would be sweet if they could make a better system...

If you don't look at the trailer posts, then you probably won't ever see the age gate.

Haven't you read why they have to do the age verification? I mean that info is on trailer page itself which is pretty much it's the law which they much abide including us.

the problem is that it says it resets when i close the browser. wich it didnt for a long time.

edit: no i didnt put my actual birthdate there everytime.

thing is i got my age set on my account why does it STILL ask me that all the time.

i like the way youtube did it alot more even if a 5 year old can still say hes 18 so its all kind of pointless anyway
