So I have work tomorrow at 7. I have to be up at 6 am. It's currently 01:37 am right now and I'm tired, but just cannot sleep. So the laptop is up.

So what about you guys? Ever find you just can't quite get round to something needed?

I can never ever sleep properly... god I hate it.

Learn to run entirely on caffeine, it saved me during the last 2 years of secondary school.

Please teach me how to do this. It's vital to my life that I learn this!

It's not that hard really. Set numerous alarms at constant intervals to 6 am. So one at 5.30, one at 5.45 and one at 6 for example. This gives you time to get that extra bit of sleep to summon up the strength to get out of bed. I'm usually out of the house by half 5 as I commute. Also you need to sleep. Now. Do it. That's an order.

How did i do it...

1) Find something you enjoy so much that you will no longer sleep to persue your interest as much as possible.

2) force yourself to get at least a few hours of sleep a night

a couple weeks of that and I was new sleeping minimal hours along with waking up on my own when needed (6:30 am)

Get over it.
I work 10 hour days for $3 an hour and get 3 hours of sleep if I'm lucky. It's how the world works, so stop complaining.
Failing that, just drink tons of coffee and go through the day on a caffeine rush.
I never really find myself in the situation you're in, though. I don't know why, that's just how things are, I suppose.

I hate getting to sleep. It's 01:54 not and I have DSPS (delayed sleep phase syndrome) which means that I won't be getting to sleep till about 4am. The DSPS also makes it extreemly hard to get up at any time before 12pm. My life asleep is a b***h.

To help get to sleep I have nothing. Dull reading or something that luls the brain by doing something boring and repetative seems to help. Good luck though.

Might be a little late for it now, but next time you're at a store you should pick up a bottle of melatonin. I've always had a hard time sleeping, and I've had more than a couple of nights where I couldn't sleep at all. But the melatonin actually helps a lot. You take it, and thirty minutes later you're feeling perfectly sleepy. It's a big help for me, and you might find it comes in handy for you as well.

Eh, if you're new to the whole gig, it takes a while for your body to adjust. I actually keep exactly that schedule for work, myself, up at 6, start at 7, and it was Hell adjusting to being up that early for quite a few weeks. If I wasn't in bed by 10, I was rather worthless the next day. As time goes on, now I can push even past 1 and still feel energized enough after about the first hour of the morning to seriously kick ass all day. (Though coffee IS my secret weapon. Mornings and afternoons!)

HOLY CRAP!!! Now that's brutal!
I average 6. If I run on 4 for to long I'm a zombie. Go old school, try milk & cookies, yumm. Juvenile: yes, fattening: most definitely, does it work: yup. Tasty treat, mild sugar rush which is followed by: boom, a crash. muy bueno!

And you either live in a country where $30 a day is enough to survive or didn't stick in at school.

Get over it.

Start waking up earlier and going for a run, at first brutality but after a week or so you'll feel like you're on a permanent caffiene high! I was braindead at work (waking up 6, then 9-5 not getting home til around 6:30) nowadays I get up around 5:20 go for a run, it really wakes up your brain and sometimes I actually sleep for more than 3-4 hours

My friend, let me introduce you to the Uberman Sleep schedule. 20 minutes of sleep every 4 hours.that's only 2 hours of sleep in a day. First 10days-2 weeks are hell though. But you get used to it. And it's freaking Godly.
