Dear Microsoft, can you please stop counting your money
I'm pretty sure most of the CEOs of Microsoft lost you at that one.

OT: You don't honestly believe Microsoft will waste time and resources to create backwards compatibility for another batch of games in order to please just a small percentage of gamers, do you?

There are so many games that I'd love to play for Xbox but aren't backwards capable and if they are, they have some sort of glitch. A GameStop refurbished Xbox is $50, so I won't be getting one since I can buy a couple of games for that.

It truly sucks that Microsoft doesn't update their list anymore.

Honestly, no i don't expect them to. it just cheeses me off that i can't play what is probably my favourite game on my 360. I guess i'll have to dig out my old xbox. Although if i have both next each other the power drawn by both power supplies may just melt a whole in te floor or cause the earths magnetic field to vanish.

Yes, I switched my PS2 Legacy of Kain: Defiance for the Xbox version (since my sister was complaining that I spent too much time on the PS2) only to find that there was no backwards compatibility for the game. Went to go switch it for the PS2 version again and it wasn't there. So I'm out $15 bucks for nothing.

and please release another backwards compatibility update for the 360

Ok i just bought TimeSplitters2 for the original xbox in the hope that i might be able to play something else other than MW2 with my flat mates only to find out that its not backwards compatible. To add insult to injury the dashboard even says that the game in my drive is TS2 but won't let me run it.

Apparently the last update was back in 2007 so i'm not expecting another one any time soon, which infuriates me even more.

Anyone else had a similar problem with backwards compatibility?
You know you could always try an emulator that might solve your problem.

It doesn't help that many of the games get particularly glitchy because of faulty emulation. Thief 3 is an example of a game completely crippled by that division of Microsoft's inability to give a shit.

And damnit, I want to play Otogi 2 again.

Yeah, I have a number of cool Xbox original games that I can't play on my 360 for some retarded reason too. Including Psi-Ops, Painkiller and Path of Neo. Very annoying.

It's making them very little if any to make backwards compatibility, and uses a lot of their resources for the pittance. Micro$$$$oft for you.
You mean 'Good business sense for you'?
Microsoft, like every other business, wants to make money. And spending major man-hours to make backwards compatibility work for a very minor and small part of the market that they'll never see money from is just good business sense. With such a small percentage of gamers wanting this, and that number just getting smaller, why waste the time and money?

You can't blame them for not wanting to throw money away.
Well, you have to admit, it is a nice little feature to have, even if it costs money.

Actually, that can't be the reason, because that would make sense, and that's apparently not allowed in the games industry (see Ubisoft)

People who own a 360 or a PS3 are likely to own an xbox or a PS2 anyway. Besides aren't the consoles cheaper than games now?
True, and I still use them once in a while.

Theres likely never going to be another update, sad to say. Thier emphasis seems to be on Natal and future releases. Which im actually ok with. If you want to play Original games grab an original. Dirt cheap.

The only game I needed from the old Xbox was Dead or Alive 3. And that's only for nostalgia. And like everyone said the black old beast is probably alot cheaper by now.
