Calling the Escapist Indie crowd. One of the coolest games to hit kickstarter this year is in serious danger of not getting funded.

Death Inc. is being developed by Ambient Games, a small studio comprised mainly of former Media Molecule and Lionhead devs. The game is a comical mix of an RTS, god game, and business simulator. It's a really neat concept, and has some pretty big names throwing down endorsement for it. If you like any of the above genres, or indie games in genre, definitely check this out before they miss their goal. /shameless plug.

Oh, also there's a free demo available here ^

I will only say that it will be a a miracle if the developers manage to fully fund this project right now.
They still need 200.000+ pounds and they have only 4 days left.

But I must admit, it is look interesting. I also like the badass purple scarf G. Reaper wearing.
Unfortunately, being a Dungeon Keeper fan, It seems doesn't focus so much to this part.

Stranger things have happened, but I'll agree it doesn't look great for them. They've garnered around 15k L in the past 24 hours, but even that's not fast enough. They need an angel investor, or for word of mouth to reach snowball proportions.

If I recall the Planetary Annihilation kickstarter made around 300k in their last day

So its certainly possible
Really surprising I must say.
However I guess it got a good gifts for the big backers, isn't it?

Right now the last tier the game "Death Inc" have, isn't very "attractive", if you know what I mean.
I mean, sure, you can be the main villain of the game, but I want something it have to do with the "good guy" of the game.

Here some ideas I have:

-Design you own clothes you will wearing as Death.
-Create your own death-cause inside the game.
-Put yourself or an OC characters of yours to be the old "boss manager" of the death
-Design your own special weapon Death he will honding when he go in his daily work.

You get the idea.

It's a shame there's no "Fund the rest of this project" tier. Someone feeling rather philanthropic could just jump in and lay down the rest of what they need.

The demo feels solid, especially for being such an early production. With more time to add polish and depth, this game is going to be really awesome, I can feel it.

Quick, throw your money at it.

We've reached 100,000 L but we still need your support. Head on over to http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/229423802/death-inc and check out the demo. I bet you'll back it twice.

To be honest, the game doesn't look that good. Nothing about it appeals to me, the picture is very misleading I think. (I don't mean false advertising, I just mean that the picture makes it look like a different style of game).

The art style, the user interface, the game-play. None of it looks fun to me, and I very much like that genre of game.

Also, you are advertising, which is against the rules. Not so much the opening post on it's own, but when you add the two posts directly above mine.

Dungeon keeper style building, army battles and god simulator combined and you say It's NOT GOOD enough?
The idea of it? It sounds very good.

But looking at their video? No, I honestly don't think it does look good at all.

It looks like something that had a great idea in theory, but the execution didn't work out as planned. Obviously if other people like it, then great, I wish the best of luck with the kickstarter, but it's not for me.

The game is excellent, and I rather enjoy the art style. It reminds me of the Dia de los Muertos levels from Little Big Planet. Kind of macabre, but with a great sense of humor and lots of color.

The gameplay is also quite fun, and the mechanic is fresh. I think fan funded games are exactly what the industry needs to break away from the monotony of "ultra realistic modern day military shooter X." I'm sorry if the post comes off as an advertisement, but in a sense every review and discussion thread on this forum is in essence an advertisement. This one just happens to be an advertisement for an indie game which is especially deserving of your money. Also, I profit in no way from you supporting or not. I just believe in their game.

I'm quite tired of the games conceived by this generation. I miss the old wacky, fantastical titles from yesteryear. Games like, Earthworm Jim and Oddworld that had really unique and funky art styles and gameplay mechanics. Sure there have been a number of gems this generation, but by and large the majority of games have been subpar iterative first person shooters.
