I sit awake at night, thinking to myself, why? I have been a long time player of MMORPG's i have even posted a few things on here about them, but i have been put into a corner, a place darkened by the shadows of World of Warcraft. Now let me give some back ground, i Played for about 3 years (On and off) and i used to really enjoy the game. Burning Crusades came out, and i dealt with it, it had some cool new features, and a few... Drags. So around that time i started playing anything i could get my hands on, DAoC, AoC, and WAR. Now, do not get me wrong, WoW is NOT a bad game, there are just things that i do not like about them, namely? Blizzard, Trying to change things to make everyone happy. This (In my opinion) will never work. So the thing that really is hurting me, is that NO one will try or play other MMORPG's, i have seen GREAT games, like Warhammer Online pretty much sink, due to this. Sure it has bugs, problems and lag... but if, IF you can remember back to say... 4 1/2 years ago... that was World of Warcraft, i think people are so stuck the the boob of WoW that they will not try new things, instead of trying a new game, they sit in City's, and when they do play the game they say "It's not really like WoW." so they quit, 800k people down to 300k, when Wrath of the Lich king came out. I will now stop, its not just War, its all other games... all im saying... don't let other games, developers, and people fail... due to WoW. thanks

I understand what you're saying. You're speaking to the people who fear new things once they've grown complacent, so they never branch out, and the other experiences that never get attention suffer for it.

Yeah, it's pretty sad to see that WoW is causing so many other games to fail.

And I fail to see the connection between the title and the actual thread.

How many times can you sell someone the same product?

Especially if it's a product designed to be used for a long period of time?

Exactly this, this is why I will NEVER play WoW. My friends are completely ignorant when it comes to attempting to play a new game.

Now, now. Never say never, that makes you no different than them by refusing to branch out, as I said.

Sorry, I forgot to use "again" in my sentence. I played WoW once and hated it, I found it extremely boring, I'm not sure how people find it addictive. Everyone has different tastes, but I know i'm NEVER touching that game again.

Well, okay then. To each his own, as they say.

The only option to make people play new MMO is to get players involved in combat. I see no sense to try any other game wich is based on pushing macross with my left hand and drink tea with right while I have WoW.

The main problem is that games like WAR are created by people who does not realy love playing. Any good MMO player could say: "Oh, we are making shitty WoW clone."

Yeah, WoW is boring but this is a community based game. But modern community is up to play alone. Now you can make successfull MMO only by creating strong single player content.
