And let me tell you, the day the word "argue" loses it's meaning (it won't in the next few years) it's because of stupid people who don't know what it means.
Like "awesome". It's losing it's meaning because everything is "awesome", even if it doesn't inspire awe.
But "arguing" maintained it's meaning because even if it's a violent debate, it is still arguing. You can't just say that all arguing is "bad".
And using the right vocabulary is pedantic? I'm sure you must love your teachers when they correct your mistakes.

To me you just considered it *might* be insulting, so of course it is. Same thing with the "n-word", you know it *might* be offensive, so you won't say it around people you don't know.
