Elite Beat Agents is about the best game ever!
New Super Mario Bros. and the Ace Attourney series are good too... well the second one is anyway, I haven't played the rest
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings is alright, gets a bit too hard for me after a while D:
Oh, and Yu-Gi-Oh Nightmare Trobadour's good too if you're a big nerd, rather like myself

I'd recommend GTA: Chinatown Wars, Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest: Hand of the Heavenly Bride, Professor Layton & the Curious Village, Bangai O Spirits, Advance Guardian Heroes, AstroBoy: Omega Factor, Sonic Rush, the Advance Wars games....

Theres alot to choose from really. The DS is spoilt for choice.

For variety my top 3 would be: GTA: Chinatown Wars, Chrono Trigger and Bangai O Spirits. GTA is fun. CT is a legendary rpg remade from the SNES that has a great story. Bangai is a crazy 2D shooter made by Treasure, who have a reputation for making high quality, challenging games.

The Zelda games are supposed to be good.
Phantom hourglass is mediocre at the best.
I disagree. It might not have been as good as The Minish Cap but there are a lot of innovations and the dungeon design is once again fantastic. I'd highly recommend this to anyone with a DS.

Anyway, any of the games mentioned here won't disappoint you. Just think of which genres you like most.

The DS has a shit ton of good games. Grab random crap off the shelves and you got a 1 in 3 chance of buying a gem. Try that with any other console.

Are you trying to fool people that the temple on the first island that you have to visit ALL OF THE FUCKING TIME is good design?!

YOU HAVE A TIME LIMIT IN IT FOR FUCKS SAKE!

It might have been on Gamesradar that I read this the first time, not quite sure, but it was about what developers do when in a hurry to finish a game and don't want to show it. They slap a time limit on the fucking section!
The time limit wasn't overly restrictive, and the stealth elements were something that I'd never seen in a Zelda game before. Let me ask you a question; have you actually played it? Or are you just quoting a review you read?

I just so happen to own the game.

Just because my opinion isn't the same as yours, it doesn't mean that I don't have the game.
It was just a question. And it was an apt one because your comment didn't suggest 'In my opinion', but rather 'In Gamesradar's opinion'. I'll admit, I've met a few people that disliked it, and all their complaints seem to revolve around some phobia of that one dungeon. I'm just trying to understand whether it's actually because they didn't like it, or because the media told them they wouldn't like it.

I haven't even heard of most of these or seen them at EB, guess I better do some research now. Is there a new Mario Brothers game? And whats Mario and Luigi Partners in Time?
I agree that you should try the Castlevania series and The World Ends With You. Since there are a ridiculous number of "good" DS games in varying genres, researching what you want is probably going to help you out the most. I believe there are a few Mario games, the ones I've heard of being Mario Kart and New Super Mario Bros. I haven't played them so I can't tell you if they were any good.

A good game for the DS I would say.. Probably Disgaea is good. It's the first game so you won't miss much. Um like above The world ends with you is great. This summer Shim Megami Tensei Devil Survivor is coming out so I'm still waiting on that one.

-Geometry Wars: Galaxies
-Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift
-Final Fantasy IV
-Professor Layton and the Curious Village
-Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword
-Dragon Quest IV and V
