I need help deciding. As ludicrous as a combination is, I will play through to Level 50 on the difficulty above Adept. So. Go! Most popular after this thread gets to page 2 of Gaming Discussion is the one I'll choose!

**Last playthrough was a heavy armoured nord spellsword***

Don't know which race is best for the class, but go as a spellsword. So you can hack at things with a sword while backpedalling and casting heal spells. That's pretty much what I did with Oblivion, except I didn't take either form of magic as a major skill...

Be a redguard that specializes in heavy armour and blocking. Then run around killing everything by blocking with a shield and punching with your fist

You said you went with Destruction, right? Try Restoration instead. And maybe use hammers instead of swords. I dunno.

Yeah but the idea is to have a different experience. A wildly different one, not just "But she's got a new hat!" sort of thing.

Simpsons joke. I'm a dude.

What about a light armoured stealth character that uses bows.

That's probably going to be a different experience than being a spellsword.

Okay then, Khajiit monk. High movement skills, high not-getting-seen-while-stealing-stuff skills, and punching things. Which should become a lot of fun once you start trying to murder Godzilla again, at any rate.

This is exactly what I am doing. Add restoration, smithing, enchanting and one handed weapons and you're set. Get the perk that makes it so that resto spells refill stamina. Laugh at enemies feeble attempts to harm you when you enchant restoration spells to free. Shield charge is so so very fun.

You could do what I did in Morrowind and Oblivion; I still don't have Skyrim and I honestly haven't gotten far in Oblivion.

Imperial with 1h sword, shield, light armor (medium in Morrowind if anyone cares) and illusion magic. I then refuse to ever use any other form of magic, even healing spells. I also take advantage of the high personality score to invest in skills like mercantile and speechcraft.

EDIT: I don't actually know what class that would be...I always make my own classes. This one basically revolves around the personality stat with sword and shield for weapons.

I'm using an Argonian Spellsword myself (on oblivion but whatever). The poison and disease resistances are VERY helpful. Water breathing would probably be more helpful if you could actually SEE anything underwater.

I'm with this gal. I roleplayed my first Skyrim character as a hunter, and it was a ton of fun. No animal was safe. Must kill all the rabbits.

But seriously, stalking your enemies is always fun.

Don't judge my personality on that last statement. Please.

Edit: And your race doesn't matter all that much. Just decide on what you think looks the best or what race has your favorite lore. I was a Redguard.

If you're feelin' really hardcore do what I call the pacifist build:
Focus on Sneak, Illusion and Conjuration, and here's the twist, you may only kill things indirectly!
I.E. making whole rooms of dudes nob off eachother with illusions frenzy/fury spell, sneaking around and luring people into their own traps, summoning in some big help when needed and using the calm spell if you are ambushed to gain distance etc.
My main is a fireballin' mage, but jumping over on this guy from time to time is Really quite fun :D Illusion makes me happy face.
(to get through the tutorial ya just let hadvar/ralof kill everything for ya, or be a high elve who start with the fury spell)

I havn't played Skyrim yet (live away from home) but i intend to play as a stealth/archer class with magical abilities in illusion, restoration and destruction. I've played this kind of class on Oblivion quite a few times before, it's just the class i feel most comfortable with- I love sneaking around dungeons stealing things and stealth-killing from afar with a well aimed arrow.
