Why, is there an alternate way to reach Quelaag?
He means the alternative path down to the swamp. Through locked door. I can see it could be argued that does not constitute Blight Town proper.

My story would have to be my SL1 Dark Wraith I made, then gotten the full set of Lord's Blade Ciaran armour for her(going through her and Artorias).
Made for one prissy looking invader, she did.

Oh and getting that goddamn tail of Calameet for Obsidian Sword. Boy was that a challenge and a half... Good times.

Heh. I remember doing my SL 1 playthrough. I didn't beat it on NG+ though. Plus, I did that on my PS3, which died on me a while back. I might start another SL 1 playthrough on PC though.

As for stories? Well, this is super embarrassing, but during that playthrough, I actually died... to Pinwheel. Yup, Pinwheel. I will never forget the shame I felt at that moment.
Thats impossible! Nobody dies to Pinwheel! Or takes more than 5 seconds fighting him usually either...

Seriously whats up with Pinwheel anyway? I don't talk to other people who play Dark Souls much so I don't know how it was for everbody else but Pinwheel is just about the most surprisingly useless boss in the game. Even on my first try he died in a second and this is my character who was so poorly designed stat wise every other boss felt like fighting KH Sephiroth. Its not like I even had a shield or armor I just ran up, started attacking thinking he would be a fake clone or something then BOOM you win! What? Is this a trick or a trap?
...No he really is dead. Wow.

My guess is they intended pinwheel to be one of the first bosses you killed. I could see him lasting longer if you're fresh from the asylum. Don't think they thought the skeletons would be that much of a barrier of entry.

As for stories I had an interesting invasion a couple of weeks ago. I invaded as a forest hunter and came across the host and another forest hunter just mucking around. We got our fists out, got naked and did a bit of brawling. Then my fellow phantom and I followed the host down to the basin and watched him kill the Hydra. It was actually kind of impressive because he ran past all the crystal golems and had to deal with them as he was fighting the Hydra. When he was done I waved goodbye and jumped into the lake.
Shit, why can't I get invaded by players like you? I usually get some over geared ass hat who easily circles around and back stabs me.
To be fair I'm pretty bad at PVP so I don't take it very seriously. And if someone is clearly just mucking around and having a but of fun I'll join in.
I got invaded by a guy who disguised himself as a barrel. That's all: no attacks, and when I whacked him he didn't defend himself. I was curious as to how long he would keep it up, just following me around: I continued the game as far as I could, clearing the entire locked in area, then just ran around in circles, followed by this stupid barrel.

I had to leave after about an hour, and the invader had still done nothing except follow me around. As a barrel.

Some people are... strange.
In my honest opinion, some of the best fun in the game comes from invading people and just fucking about.

I like to go around the host's world opening doors, hitting invisible walls to reveal them, and flipping switches to open the other kind of doors/elevators/whatever. If there's nothing to do there, following the host around, watching them fight monsters, doing the Jump-for-Joy emote when they kill something, dropping weapons and armor I never intend to use where the host can see it (if they don't just run up and attack me, not getting the hint that I'm not there to murder them) or whatever such senselessness comes to mind, usually while having unequipped my pants.

I actually got someone to cooperate with me in the Tomb of Giants once while I was doing nothing but carrying the skull lantern, lighting their way as best I could. Goddamn black knight cut things short, but I ran to the skeleton archer first because I didn't want the host blundering off a ledge trying to get to the rat bastard shooting at him.

How's it possible to beat the game without going to Blight Town? I mean, I know you can skip a big portion of it if you have the Master Key as your starting gift, but it seems like it would be impossible to completely skip it since the second bell of awakening is in there.
You have to go to blight town of course, but you don't have to spend that much time, if anything less than like 5-10 minutes.

Well unfortunately to be fortunate, the PC servers to Titan Fall have kinda gotten to shit :/
The good news is that I've scheduled pick up for Dark Souls 2 which will own me more a few hours <3

How should I word my most memorable experience in Dark Souls aside from the victory of my first lvl 1 play through.

There was a time I was killed by an invisible Gaping Dragon Tail.

The time I actually summoned Solaire and how he was hilariously tossed off a roof by one of the Gargoyles not even a minute into the fight (this was on first playthrough, never summoned Solaire again).

The time that I thought I was clever and decided to remove the ring of Artorias after falling into the abyss... That didn't work out.

The time I managed to convince Two Forest Phantoms, one Dark Phantom and myself to have a FFA match in the woods. Shit was nuts, from seeing one guy using Gravelord Dance, fire storm, Gods Wrath and of course homing soul mass. Because we obviously couldn't use the arena because nobody used the arena.

The time I was Falcon upper punched by someone using a mod so hard that I was sent to Anor Londo (I was originally in the Darkroot Basin).

The time I faced Sonic the Hedgehog.

Finally going back to that duel I mentioned earlier the epic climax of me being intelligent enough to dodge an incoming attack to then suddenly find myself falling to my death because I forgot that a ledge existed.

Can't wait to play later today!

My shameful secret is that I've never beaten Dark Souls. The closest I ever got was a ridiculously slow strength build who just couldn't move fast enough. I've restarted a dozen other characters but I just seem to loose interest either during or right after finishing Anor Londo. I've gotten better certainly and should be able to take down the final boss, but I just loose interest long before the end game. It blows my mind that you crazy bastards are able to do it at level one.
I actually haven't finished it either. Thing is, I got the PS3 version, played for a long while, got my character built up and then started PvPing. Then my brother said he's getting a copy on the PC, so I figured we'd team up and have some fun together. Mind you, two skilled players playing through DS makes it laughably easy, but we were just aiming at making PvP builds. Then we got so into PvP and since my favourite bit of it was the Forest (being invaded, not being in the Cat covenant), I couldn't bring myself to kill Sif (to tell the truth, I find it a bit stupid that one of the best PvP areas in the game is walled off after beating it story wise... it makes perfect sense story wise, sure, but it still sucks).

After a while of kicking ass in PvP, I just got a bit tired of the game (it contributed that I came straight out of Demon's Souls after getting it through PS+, so I've basically played a very similar game several times through, and played DKS on both PS3 and PC, thus going through the content twice already). Since I'm waiting on the PC version, I've been thinking of starting a new character one of these days and going through the whole game, just to finish it (don't have much left really, I actually went and killed Sif and the Four Kings just before I got bored, so I think that just leaves me with Kiln of the First Flame)

If you've killed Bed of Chaos, Seath and Nito then yeah, just speak to your Serpent of choice and you're just a few Black Knights (and hopefully just one invasion)from King Beardo. Hope you learned to parry. :p

Well they were very wrong, a mixture of skeletons, necromancers, exploding skulls deathly drops, silver knights and F**KING wheel skeletons certainly convince the player to stay away.

If you know what you're doing you can avoid most of them. However the point be raised, the trek to getting to Pinwheel is a total pain in the ass.

I did attempt a SL 1 run, but stopped around Blighttown. not sure anymore if I had beaten Quelaag (or whichever variation), but I mainly stopped because it wasn't doing anything for me. The game wasn't really hard for me at this moment, but everything just took a long time to kill, because of the bad stats. Now I am playing DS II, so maybe someday I will finish it.

I thing I did on the SL 1 character was to go the catacombs the moment I was in Firelink Shrine, to go to ma boi Nito to get the gravelord sword. I succeeded in this, but then I found out I didn't have the required stats to properly use it...
