Im not sure how to start his one off, But the main question is this.

How do you define "Maturity" that special point in which a man or woman becomes something even greater in society. With years eroding their face and turning them into the sculpture of perfection that people in world will look up to. So on and so force...

At the time of writing this im having difficulties putting into words what i think being a "mature" person is. So I will leave you with what i got. A mature person tries and may fail to if things they have done wrong, but if they cant fix it, then they learn from it.

It what i got, though don't hold it two me a week from now because it might change.

People call me mature because I get along well with people older than me.

I'd say maturity is the point when you start thinking about others and stop thinking about yourself.

Some people never reach true maturity.

Not being a douchebag and using common sense. So when you're old enough to realize carving your girlfriend's name into your arm is a fucking stupid idea, you're mature in that respect. Also when you start thinking independently.

Whenever you stop thinking your dad knows everything and is always right.

Maturity is mostly defined by what choices you make. For example, choosing to make a fart joke, immature, choosing not to, mature. What actions are defined as mature or not is culturally based on course but it is a strict set of rules.

I believe it's being able to put thoughts into your actions and to pick your battles accordingly. Also, it's being able to confront any situation with a clear mind and rational reasoning.

Also, you should be able to get along with others, or at the very least act civil towards others.

na man gotta disagree with you I feel Custard_Angel and gamezombieghgh are right on this one maturity is about growing to a point when you realize it doesn't matter how most people perceive you and that you should start thinking from others perspectives rather than exclusively your own. I don't think maturity has very much to do with your sense of humor nor your interests.

Except your notion of "independent thinking" as being mature, or good, or even existing is tied to cultural values. If you lived in a country ruled by a dictator that told you to step in line independent thinking wouldn't be mature, it'd be stupid or rebellious. You're defining maturity in terms of a cultural value, i.e. independence. It's a defining value of many western countries. If you lived somewhere were that wasn't necessarily true then chances are you would not associate maturity with any sort of thinking. "Maturity" is culturally defined like lots of other abstract concepts.

A mature person is someone who knows when to act like a child, and when not to.

Pretty much. I always preferred sticking to older people, and usually girls since almost all guys were dumb as mules in... everywhere.

So almost all of my friends are females a year or two older.

Proven by psychology, not trying to be mature. A high schooler will never admit to reading child stories, while an adult man will celebrate it.

Biologically speaking it means to be able to successfully reproduce, so we are all "mature" for a long time. Otherwise I'd say it means caring about those around you as much if not more than yourself, and realizing when and where certain things are appropriate.

Alternatively, realizing that maturity is an unquantifiable unit and not bothering with it.
