Having the ability to do things you could not or would not as a child (swearing, drinking, thinking independently, etc...), while having the presence of mind and the self-restraint to limit their use according to the situation (not saying F*** every fifth word, not drinking till you blackout, not disagreeing with ideas just because you didn't think of them).
