Looks great, through I find Intel CPUs and nVidia GPUs more reliable. The only advice I can give you is to invest in extra cooling, if possible.

EDIT: Oh, and make sure that the RAM is DDR3.
There is zero difference in reliability between Intel, Nvidia, and AMD's products. There are performance differences, sure, but not reliability differences.
From what I know, Intel and Nvidia are better choices when it comes to non-windows OSes, though.
(and please don't try to force the conflict by saying they don't matter - they still exist and are widely used)

On Topic: looks alright. I especially like that you didn't just pick win8 : D
Again not true. Are you talking about BSD, Unix? Linux? Which variant? There are differences in the quality of linux drivers between AMD and Nividia although AMD has been greatly improving its Linux drivers.
I don't know what you even mean by "force the conflict", and your presumption that I would say "they don't matter" is ridiculous. For end users and home users the percentage of other OS use is very low but I work IT and a lot of other roles are served by other OS'es.
In any case the only thing that could make any sense is to say something like "At price point X, for games Z and Y, this particular Nvidia or AMD card is better than this AMD or Nvidia card."

Can't argue with that, but OS X, for example (which you can still run on "normal" hardware) requires an intel processor, no matter what. also PhysX still exists and is used, and, afaik, not something amd cards have. (which leads me to believe that they are indeed preferred, but yeah, not on the level of actual reliability) And don't be insulted because of the conflict thing, I'm just biased because I've seen way too many people bash linux for the most ridiculous of reasons, especially on gaming forums.

It really shouldn't even be mentioned for someone with basic technical knowledge. Linux doesn't really have a place yet as a recommendation for gamers. Your Steam offerings will be very limited, as is support for a lot of other games. Before anyone yells 'WINE', please don't treat it as a worthy alternative to native DirectX gaming. ):

Also, Mac can run on AMD CPUs as of 10.4 "Tiger" and Apple is now producing systems with AMD CPUs as of this year I believe.

And yeah, Nvidia cards have CUDA and PhysX, which is what AMD cards lack.

I think that's just the GPUs (which is talked about a lot lately), but if you have a source, please enlighten me.
