Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition. Quite possibly the best orchestral work of all time.

Of course, we played Moanin' in jazz last year, so, it's a tie.

Ah! I got to play the bari sax on that! Kick ass song. We also pulled out Fables of Faubus. Mingus was great

Oh yeah! I almost forgot.

When I was playing in a professional orchestra (aren't I cool!) we played a suite from Lord of the Rings.

It was epic.

And this is a great suite by Johan de Meij. It actually got me into reading the book.

My favorite is Jupiter (Gustav Holst), but there are too many fun ones to choose from.
