Don't do anything that is meant to purposefully cause harm to another player mental or otherwise. I don't want anyone to Flame/Troll/Spam/etc. I want this to be as friendly as possible. Characters may have a chance of dying so if you don't want your character to die then don't do things that could obviously get them killed. If you are not sure what is obvious feel free to PM me. My judgments on everything are law.

This is the format we will be using.
IC:

Your post goes here. So you would normally see a paragraph here. Never less then one sentence.
TAG: Sai(For me the GM),

A world of Superpowers and Sand:

Rive is a world that is completely barren. The desert spells death for just about everything that enters it. The sands stops most machines, vehicles, and spacecraft from working. There is no one agreed upon reason why this occurs, but their are smaller sand buggies that are able to travel across this endless Desert.

Since most of the people that landed here were stranded they made due with what they had and formed domed biospheres out of the parts of their ships. Overtime these domes became grand cities which the Capital of the planet is called Rive City after the Planet Rive. Rive City is easily the largest of the cities and is so large that there is infact a second city within it called Core City because of it's location. At the center of every city there is a Giant Mine Shaft called a Grave. They are normally addressed as "The Grave" and the miners are often referred to as "Gravediggers". These Graves are the life blood of the planet and without them their would be no water for the hundreds of millions of people on the planet.

Originally the planet had a number of governments, but they eventually formed the Technocracy of City-States out of a common good. This government is responsible for the people and heads the Executive branch carried out by the Police of each respective city. The center of Rive City is the Glowing Blue Gem which can be seen from space the single largest resource of water found to date. Each city has it's own history, but Rives is a colorful one that everyone knows. Rive City is where everything started.

Rive is perhaps most famous for the Great League of Heroes. The Great League of Heroes is the affectionate name of an organization of philanthropists made famous for the extremely powerful individuals that founded it. They were both powerful for their individuals gifts and the influence they held over the public. They were advocates for the Alien, Mutant, and Psychic populations of Rive. During they height of their fame they work with the police to combat crime and helped build Rive City what it is today. The ratio of individuals with extraordinary abilities is 1 out of 3 and thanks to the example The League lead much ground was gained for the powered community. The disbandment of Psychics from the military and dismantlement of The League is what some say are the major reason why trust in powered people are at an all time low today.

Known Groups of Core City
The Ringers are a gang that run anything related to gambling within the Core, they are level headed and a number of there members treat Gambling as a Sport rather then an occupation. They run a lottery that anyone can play and they take cheating very personally. Though no one can prove it they feel The Ringers are populated by Cheaters, perhaps it is just the implied nature of their name. Their biggest source of income is this lottery and the majority of the inhabitants of the Core play it. Winner often are able to move to better parts of Rive City since crime is so high within the Core.

The Grave Skulls, also referred to as the Skulls, are not as violent as there names imply. In Truth the are a union of workers that work in The Grave, the largest Salt and Water mine on Rive. Water is a scarce resource miles within the crust. All water on rive has a salt content. It must be processed for human consumption, which is why Rive City is the wealthiest city-state and capital of the planet. The Skulls value hard work and honor there words.

The Volks are named thus for their tattoos that mark them as such. Some wear yellow contacts to make them look like there namesakes. They are a mafia organization and within the Core they make most of their income off of racketeering, protection, and theft. They are the largest gang within Rive City and are famous for organized crime. They have been none to bribe the police, and are the strongest within the Core.
All gangs operate on an honor based contract that they will not attack each other if they are not attacked. This does not apply to those outside of a gang. This code allows them to coexist.

"Border Control" The nickname for the Fifty Sixth Precinct is the only Police Station built within the Core, they are the strongest Station within the force, but there is just too much crime for them to handle. No one wants to risk more Police Officers lives by creating another station or transferring officers from other parts of the city. They are situated on the border between Core City and the rest of Rive City. Just about everyone in Border Control lived and was raised in Core City.

Index of Known people of Rive. The abilities you may have often dictate they type of life you live.
Mutants: As a mutant you are hated by the general population. Unlike the fear of the Psychics the hatred of the mutants comes not from their abilities directly, but from the idea that any one person could become a mutant. Mutants began from the exposure of something deep in The Graves and ever since their offspring have had the genes necessary to give birth to future mutants. Mutants with highly visible physical traits were forced to live in the poorer parts of the city because of a fear of contamination. Whether this fear is justified is unsure, the secrets of the those few who became transformed into mutants died with them. Now mutants are all born and those parts of the mines are feared, but what secrets might they hold for the mutants? Mutants that appear as normal humans blend in with society and hope that their secrets are never revealed.

Aliens: Your life as Alien is hard. You have either newly arrived to the planet or more likly your ancestors came long ago. Technically while all the settlers of Planet Rive are Aliens to the planet, what separates you from these people is that you are not from this solar system. Some of you have come from an unimaginably far distance away and most of your own history is lost to those who died traveling to get here. Most Aliens today are born on Rive and have to live in the poorest parts of the city because that is were your ships rest. Something about Rive makes spacecraft unable to fly after they has landed. Most believe it is a quality of the sand, that permeates everything outside the cities, that causes this. Most ships were broken down for material and make your homes, this is were you struggle. Love is not unknown between the species and the humans that are forced out of better parts of the city end up living with your kind. Children strangely with one human parent almost always appear human with abilities of their alien parents. Under moments of great duress these traits often make themselves known.
There are many alien races on Rive. Often what a person can imagine exists on Rive. If you would like to add to the Alien index please submit your findings today.
Example Alien Races:
Pulsar Berserkers - This is fungus-based, gold-shelled race. They shed their integument as they grow. They do not reproduce, but instead infect and transform other beings into new members of their species. They are capable of going into a berserk rage under certain conditions. They are ancient, widespread, and powerful. Most of their species ascented to a godlike existence - they are the descendents of those that did not. Their world of origin is resource-rich, has a single moon and is known for being incredibly polluted.

Biokin Of Canopus - This race resembles the werewolves of earth mythology. They are famous for producing economists. They are an all-male race. Their society is dependent on one technology: manufacturing. They come from a high-gravity, resource-rich world that is and only a small part of the world is habitable to the species...

Beetle Breeders - This is spindly, spine-covered race. They can sense electromagnetic radiation. They are omnivores, but prefer to be carnivorous. They bear a powerful horns as natural weapons. They have to merge with a host in order to survive. They interbreed easily with other species. They have no sense of personal space. Their government is efficient. A past war nearly destroyed them completely. Since they bonded with humans why look very much like humans or what most humans thought devils looked like in the past.

Humans: Humans live everywhere and since you are one of them your life is as varied as they are. The Rich formed the upscale penthouses and funded the skyscrapers that are in nearly every part of the city. There are upscale communities that only belong to The Rich and only their kind can go inside. These places are always addressed to as 'gated communities'. The Middle Class Human often lives in the sprawling parts of the city that were converted to sub-urban homes. This ten 'sub-urban' often confuses members of the city because everyone lives in some part of the city whether it's sub-urban or not. These suburbs as they are called were made of some wood like substance, but since trees don't naturally grow on Rive this material is a luxury. The Poor live in the section of the city called The Core City. This place is like a city within a city. The Core City is populated with Aliens for the most part, but a large number of humans also make their home here. Sometimes riots will start up because of the strained relationship between Human and Alien, but for the most part they tolerate each other. The worst Riot thus far happened almost two years ago.

Psychics: Your kind was originally only part of the Military, you are human you suspect, but most treat you as a monster. You were born with your mind as they were theirs, so you can not understand why humans fear you the way they do. Psychics are hated because of their abilities to read minds, though unlike rumors would make you believe not all Psychics can read minds. It is believed that in the Psychic community was responsible for a Cataclysm, but none are sure of what. The Military keeps a strict hold of all information relating with the Psychics before their disbandment from the Military. Unlike other minorities of Rive the Psychics were nearly universally hated by the time of their disbandment. Those that weren't killed in the Riots some years ago were forced to live underground in the sewers or worse in The Graves themselves. Currently all children born, when safe, have their brains scanned to determine if they are functioning at specie's norms or are a Psychic.

Magic:
Something about Rive draws magic users to the planet. Those that listen have heard that a great demon walks the planet and this is why the mages and the necromancer come here. Others say that something about the crystals deep in The Graves draw them to ultimate power. Magic is often scoffed at by the scientific community, but it is real. The majority of practitioners are secretive and rarely take on students. Out in the Deep Sands it is not unheard of to meet demons drawn to magic. If you have the spark and wander out into the Sands, you can often make a deal with a demon if they don't kill you first. Necromancers are often outcast of their home worlds and have come to Rive to escape persecution oftentimes they also seek to discover if the rumors of demons here are true. Magic is always dangerous because of it's unpredictability. It is hard to become skilled without talent and deadly to try without a mentor. Magic comes in many forms and is only limited by the power of the user. It is not unheard of of likeminded Mages to band together. Oftentimes Mages form teams funded by benifactors of unknown origin. Mages have been known to build complex networks to serve their personal goals, yet these goals are only sometimes selfish. For a Mage knowledge is power.

Chemical/Accidents:
It is not unknown for a person to become changed by substances created on Rive. Since almost everything on Rive is synthetic in one form or another the wrong combinations of circumstances can lead to "mutations" or better named alterations that are different from those of the Mutants. These few, the minority of all powered individuals, are not Mutant because they were not born the way they are. While the stigma attached to these people is nowhere are strong as those of the Mutants there is a general distrust of them. Since the days of the Great League of Heroes disbanded there has been no real private organization of these types of beings. the scientific community does not care whether a person is powered or not as long as they do good work. Those that are changed in thier career field seldom leave their jobs. The military will often recruit these people to give them a better life. It is also common for these people to move into the Core City to live with the Aliens.

Technology:
Technology is hard to come by since the Aliens who are more advanced horde it. Technology is often tied to the culture of individual Alien races. Humans have developed great skyscrapers in the more upscale section of Rive City and the creation of synthetic wood allowed for a number of wood built structures like the Family Home. The Military is rumored to have created a number of fantastic things, but their is little evidenced to back up these claims. Those that desire to test their inventions and innovations are called "Sponsors". These sponsers allow normal people to test cutting edge tech as long as these sign a non-disclosure agreement. Some of these Sponsors were the first to invent a Non-Powered Hero using these devices and gadgets and in recent years it seems the fad has caught on again. Enterprising individuals have also been known to self back such heroes as these.

Martial Arts:
Since the "Riots of Core City" Martial Arts has taken a steady increase in attendance. Schools for Training have always been open to anyone who was interested, but their are Schools that are rare that are hard to find, and that only the most devote will be lead to. These school are more powerful then the rest and are rumored to be very deadly. Of the wide none School here are a few examples. For information on rarer schools contact locate your local game's master.

The Spinning Whirlwind Way. This warrior's way is very well-known and taught in various schools. This martial art has a popular reputation for unpredictability, and strongly focuses on meditation. This warrior's way is known for the "Spinning Defense Whirl" and the "Mystery Guard".

The Tiger Way. This warrior's way is very well-known and taught all over. This warrior's way has a popular reputation for deadliness, and is virtually obsessed with agility. This warrior's way initially teaches beginners the "Defensive Claw Fang" and builds up to the "Graceful Tiger Grasp".

The Monkey Academy. This martial art is well-known and only taught in specific schools. This martial path has an unearned reputation for cleverness, and has a casual, but important, focus on dexterity. This martial technique cautiously guards its ultimate technique, the "Monkey's Battle Paw".

The Way of the Lone Lake. This martial technique is very well-known and only taught in specific schools. This martial path has a deserved reputation for looking down on social mores, and strongly focuses on independence. This art is known for the deadly "Happy Queit Finger" and the deadly "Offensive Water Grapple".

There are many schools of fighting and the Aliens often practice their own styles if any were brought over from their world.

IC: Mr. Worthington
Upstairs Office: Superburger

An older man with a charming smile Mr. Worthington has an experienced air about him. His eye twinkle with a savvy that one would rarely hope to find from what seemed like a glorified manager of a fast food joint. His eyes are a hue of blue that is closer to grey. His hair is all salt and pepper and he would seem like someone you could trust. If you can trust this man for anything then it would be for the money that was promised to you. There are chairs before you that Mr. Worthington gestures for you to take.

The room seems bigger from the inside. Perhaps it is the high ceiling that gives you the impression that this room is bigger then it actually is. Mr. Worthington steps quickly behind his desk and his slim build is now only visible from the waist up. He sits down in his cushy chair and folds his hands placing them in front of himself. He smiles at you with a weary, but practiced smile. You would say it looked fake to you, but it is strained. "As you all know-" He starts then clears his throat. "You have answered my ad for your own reasons. Ever since the bombing of Davis Hospital water shipments have been nigh impossible to get in the area anymore.

You remember what you know about the bombing. Davis Hospital was the most productive hospital in The Core City and happened to be across the street from this Superburger. Last year an explosive went off on the Third Floor taking destroying the Staff Lounge located there and killing a number children and adult patients there. Mr. Worthington continued with a voice as smooth as silk, "To secure this shipment of water and insure the confidence of our stock holders you will be working with The Dead Ringers Private Security Detail."

Mr. Worthington looks at each one of you in turn to emphasize the seriousness of this job. He stands up and places his palms flat against his desk. You didn't notice it before but it looks like the desk is made out of real wood. That would be impossible though. There are no trees on Rive other then Private Gardens of the Rich. They would never allow a Fast Food Manager make a desk out of one of their trees would they? It must be a very good imitation. "Now that we got that out of the way. Any questions?" Mr. Worthington says with good humor.

Upstairs Office: Superburger

Cyrus' eyes, lacking pupils as they did, could not display the faintest traces of emotion - not that it was any big deal, in this case. He stared across the desk at Mr. Worthington, making a mental note of anything and everything he could see in the room, as well as Worthington's words... Well, anything that he felt could be of importance, anyways. Including the wooden-looking desk, and people around him. He figured that Mr. Worthington was a tad more well-connected than he let on, but didn't say much about it - it didn't matter much, anyways. Not now, of all times. There were more important things to ask about.

"Yes, sir, I have a question. Several, really, but they'll depend on your answer to the next." He said softly, voice nonetheless level and professional. "Will we need to bring our own weaponry, or will it be provided for us?" And, just like that, it was clear how serious he was about the job. Midway through the sentence, his words seemed to take on a cold, steely edge, one that had everyone in the room thinking of the military almost immediately. It was obvious he was in the service - or, at least, he had been at some point.

OCC: Uh, since my character can read minds I will have to almost break the forth wall as far as what your characters are thinking. So, if there's anything you really don't want her to figure out or something along those lines tell me. :p
IC: Alice Vendral
Upstairs Office: Superburger

Alice Vendral placed a hand on her hip skeptically and shifted her weight from one foot to the other as the salt and pepper-haired fast food restaurant manager in front of her explained the basics of the job on offer. Today she was in her performance gear as well as her dark trenchcoat having literally just come off the streets, the psychic had been busking on them nearby the Superburger with her acoustic guitar for any extra income she could find not ten minutes ago. In fact, she was currently leaning on its case as she did not have time to take it back to the apartment, already a few days behind on the rent. This was only part of the reason she had bothered coming to this little meeting, she and her band had not found many gigs lately and were so short on money Alice had barely eaten for a number of days. The musician had found the add in her case along side change, she had felt the thoughts of the person who left it. He was one of the people assigned the job of distributing ads for Mr. Worthington and didn't much like it.

The manager finished talking and asked if there were any questions, hands on the wood-like table before them. A curious site in a Superburger outlet, Alice found the fact that such a place could afford to hire guards was quite suspicious as well but bit her lip for the moment. We need that money or the we're toast... She thought, stomach grumbling Argh, I shouldn't think about toast right now. Mr. Worthington wasn't lying so far but he hadn't said much, she didn't trust him and felt a little deeper into his mind for information. Perhaps a little verbal suggestion will get him thinking the right way. Alice listened to the pupil-less man beside her, not just his words but also thoughts feeling a slight shiver down her spine as he mentioned weapons as and almost compulsory affair. Cyrus, as she found his name was, was a former military man as the others suspected. She could tell from his attitude to violence, he couldn't see many alternatives or didn't want to for it had been so deeply drilled into his mind. Still, the woman could feel his intelligence and the wisdom which suggested he may be a little older than he looks though she could not tell without delving deeper into his mind but she had other things to concentrate on.

"Ah guns, just what we need to solve the city's problems with violence. Right Cyrus?" Alice sighed, standing straight a chuckling a little before setting her unblinking eyes on Mr. Worthington's, "Alright Marcus, what aren't you telling us about this little escort escapade? I assume there are some risks you left out of the lovely, colorful ad..." The psychic probed his mind as well as she could without him releasing she was doing so.

Upstairs Office: Superburger

Mr. Worthington shifted his gaze onto Cyrus. From what he knew of the man Cyrus had a personal stake in the events that occurred at Davis Hospital. It was a sad state of affairs. It was like the Riots all over again. Superburger had endured those times and it would continue to endure. Cyrus would be out for blood if he was right about his motivations for taking this job.

"I am sorry Cyrus, but I am but a humble purveyor of food. In times such a these businesses such of ourselves have to look for ways for securing our shipments, but we do not stock weapons among our burgers. Mr. Y over there or Nick could help you. They are from the Dead Ringers Private Security team." Mr. Worthington points to a man in a yellow jumpsuit and a sickly fellow with the flat of his hand. Mr. Worthington gives Cyrus an apologetic look. "I've hired each of you because you have certain skill set that are extraordinary. I believe you will be successful if you work together."

The raven hair woman spoke without a moments delay. It seemed that she wasn't the most polite individual. "Ah guns, just what we need to solve the city's problems with violence. Right Cyrus? Alright Marcus, what aren't you telling us about this little escort escapade? I assume there are some risks you left out of the lovely, colorful ad..." Alice would learn that Marcus was the only English word she would skim from his mind. It seemed the rest was in some language she did not understand. Curious.

Marcus Worthington closed his hands together as if praying for strength. A calmness overcame Mr. Worthington's visage and he looked at Alice with compassion, "It is hardly a coincident that you are here today Alice. You were there at Davis Hospital with a patient by the name of Darrien Pearl. The media made quite an uproar to discover that someone of such a lucrative name was apart of the explosion. His father is responsible for why the Rive Grave is so influential today." Mr. Worthington looked into her eyes with a sternness that was not there before. "Please call me Mr. Worthington in the future or Mr. W if it suits you, but only my friends may call me Marcus."

For the next few seconds, Cyrus was silent as both the woman named Alie and Mr. Worthington spoke, coughing into his hand to clear his throat, and signify that he was about to add to the conversation, almost as soon as the latter had finished. "Thank you for this opportunity, Mr. Worthington. I can assure you that I won't let you down." He said quietly, standing smoothly before adding, "And Miss... Alice, was it? Please don't read my mind again, it's painfully rude." He wouldn't have wanted his mind read in the first place, but... Well, he could assume she had already done so, judging by her use of his name before it had been spoken by, say, himself or Mr. Worthington.

That said, he walked to the men from the Dead Ringers Private Security team, greeting them with nods, and began to speak in hushed tones, so as not to interrupt Mr. Worthington's words. "Misters Y and Nick, I assure you that I'm fairly well-armed. I'll be bringing along a high-calibre pistol with four or five extra clips, as well as a fairly large hunting knife, and, of course, my own body. Since I imagine the two of you have a better idea of what we could be facing, though, you should be able to judge what I might need. I'm proficient in the use of most light and medium firearms, and could hold my own in hand-to-hand combat, as well as with a knife or other blade... Any recommendations?"

OCC: Uh, I'm assuming Darrien is dead... If I'm wrong please correct me.
IC: Alice Vendral
Upstairs Office: Superburger

Alice's brow wrinkled when she heard a language aside from english from inside Mr. Worthington's head though he seemed to speak it perfectly. She could normally get the gist of what people who spoke a foreign language were thinking from their feelings but he was incredibly calm for a human, she couldn't make out anything aside form his first name which only fed her mistrust for him. Interesting... This man is becoming curiouser and curiouser, I wonder what language that is. She wondered as he spoke to Cyrus, scratching the back of her neck a little before pulling a stray lock of hair from her face. Deciding to probe him more later, Marcus indicated the two others in the room and she smiled a little to them before the manager resumed talking to her, compassion his eyes. The mere mention of the explosion at the hospital made her visibly shiver, Darrien's name sending an icy knife into the musician's heart.

The psychic grimaced and dropped her eyes to ground for a moment as if in mourning before staring back at Marcus. She remembered that night well, the screams of people, their dying minds and the events that had led them both to the hospital. "Yes, I remember that night well..." Alice spoke softly, the others could tell it was obviously not the happiest of memories. She was surprized that Cyrus was there as well, he must have been out of range for much of the time. The woman knew she was not welcome in their minds, even before they spoke and regained composure before speaking once more, "I apologize... To both of you, I should not have entered your thoughts without permission." She broke into a slight grin, "Heh, I suppose if you were looking for privacy you shouldn't have hired a telepathic as curious as I. I'll block out your thoughts, and don't worry: I won't tell." The musician grinned broader with a knowing look in her eyes as she looked from Cyrus back to Mr.Worthington. In truth she did not know that much about them but she loved to tease, suppressing her abilities. She could no longer completely block out others minds now but she would only be able to sense their minds' presence and emotions.

Alice finally addressed the others in the room, "A pleasure to meet you all, I'm Alice Vendral: muso and psychotic psychic!" She laughed a little, holding out her right hand for them to shake and fighting the urge to read more thoughts. It was difficult, the silence of minds was unsettling for her and usually meant bad things but her abilities would no doubt make the other feel similarly uncomfortable.

IC: Asher DeLuc
Upstairs Office: Superburger

Sitting quietly in his chair amongst the group of his soon-to-be colleagues, Asher couldn't help but worry. Over the last year he'd had a few close calls with the Volk, one of which ended with him taking the lives of quite a few of his step-father's thugs.

The only one he knew in the room was Alice, whom he had met just before the incident at Davis Hospital. He'd seen her now and then and kept in moderate contact since then but to spend to much time with her would put her in risk. Volk assassins or hitmen could show up at any time, armed to the teeth and trigger-happy. He didn't want her involved.

He still had quite a bit of his money stockpile left, but Asher was looking to build it up even higher. That's why he took this job. That, and...perhaps to make sure Alice wasn't harmed.

Making sure the band covering his synthetic eye was secure in his regular paranoid fashion, Asher spoke.

"I guess I'll introduce myself as well; you can call me Alan. Alan Bellamont. Trained martial artist, and if we're lucky, my other skills won't be used as...extensively."

Still very much "on the run", Asher had to conceal his real name from the others. Mr. Worthington and Alice, however, knew his real name; Worthington would be signing his paycheck and Alice he knew.

Mr. Yellow as he was sometimes called turned to Cyrus with a frown firmly in place. Cyrus would know that this expression was on his face threw the entire meeting so far so it wasn't particularly aimed at him. Perhaps Mr. Y was just a sour person. Everyone seemed to be here for there own reason's , but where these two here because it was their job? You can't be sure, but know their attention is on you. Mr. Y leans in as Cyrus begins to whisper.

Mr. Y sighs before he begins speaking in a hushed tone, "That should be enough if everything goes acorrding to plan. We don't expect much resistance, but their has been more unrest in the Core then is normal. Plenty of ways to die still, so don't fool yourself into thinking your safe." Mr. Y opens the metal case that was sitting in his lap. It is a dull gray and looks similar to what a traveling salesmen might use. "As far as reconmeddations go. Stay in a group, I don't want to see one of you trying to be a cowboy out there. We are low on equipment all around and short on people as it is."

"Yes, I remember that night well..." Compassion returns to Mr. Worthington's face. He didn't want to bring this up like that, but he did what he had too. Alice seemed to be remembering Darrien. They must have been close if the mere mention of his name caused her pain. He would have to make a note of that. Pearl Industry might know more about Miss Alice then she suspects.

"I apologize... To both of you, I should not have entered your thoughts without permission." She broke into a slight grin, "Heh, I suppose if you were looking for privacy you shouldn't have hired a telepathic as curious as I. I'll block out your thoughts, and don't worry: I won't tell." Mr. Worthington just raised a palm and waved away any worries she might have. He knew of her skills and he wasn't angry that she wanted to read his mind. Alice just needed to be reminded that one needed to be tactful in their use. It was sand in the desert. No needed to linger on it.

Mr Worthington turned to Asher as he "introduced" himself. Why the boy insisted on such alias was beyond him. The Volk had slightly bigger problems at the moment. "Lying to his soon to be coworkers wasn't very endearing, but we all do what we had to." Mr. Worthington supposed mentally. Mr. Worthington scribbled down 'Alan Bellamont' onto a piece of "paper". It would be no good if he addressed Asher by the wrong name. Mr. Worthington took his seat and said, "Yes, I hope so as well. I would prefer if the shipment remained under the radar, so to speak. Anyone else care to introduce themselves? Now would be the time." Mr. Worthington said with a clever wink.

Lurking in the corner, Janx chose this moment to step forward. As his limbs unfolded he stooped, brushing the ceiling for a second before returning to a manageable 6 foot

"Janx Fyr'Tze" he said, "Of the J'Vraxi. We're not well known, but you can guess what I'm good for. If I have the choice, I'll be on patrol; in all likelihood, you won't see in less I catch someone trying to be stupid. Oh, and out of interest, if anyone does attack us, do we need to keep them alive?"

Mr. Worthing turned to the Alien. It was quite rare that he had found a J'Vraxi looking for employment, so he would be patient with him. "Mr. Janx, you are more or less a guard. You won't have any sanction for violent actions and I would prefer that you didn't kill anyone for the sole reason of keeping attention from Superburger and it's shipments. I don't work in the field so if you declare it fit to defend yourself then that is your decision." Mr. W said with his fingertips pressed together. "I would however like to discover if there is a leak and how they know where are shipments will be so accurately."

Janx sighed, and nodded. It was a pity; a good excuse to fill his stomach was always welcome, but the code dictated that the job come first. "If I do catch anyone, I'll keep them well enough to answer questioning."

He glanced round the others, and saw that they were in varying states of boredom or simply about to leave. It seemed things needed a little moving

"So, are we starting immediately?" he asked his new employer

Alice fought the urge to smirk as Asher gave a false name, she knew him better than he though, his thoughts being precisely what allowed her to find such information. Of course, she had promised not to and knew he disliked it immensely but it was a compulsion of hers and it was not every day she got to meet another psychic. Allan Belamont? Really? She spoke into his mind, projecting an image of her face laughing and then winking a little, I suppose it could be worse...You're so paranoid, there are no Volks in the room if it makes you feel better. The musician withdrew from the man's mind as she listened to 'Mr. Yellow' whisper to Cyrus, her sensitive ears hearing him easily as she lowered her hand. No one seemed to want to shake it so she did a quick sweep of the remain people in the room with her powers, Mr. Y, Nick and Janx, the only alien.

The alien was geared for violence and killing but obviously withheld a strict sense of honour or code. For some reason Nick's mind only gave her a kind of static or white noise, hurting her head slightly like some electric equipment normally did. Alice listened to Janx and Marcus talk, smiling when she heard him mention the leak, "If I may interject, Mr Worthington?" She inquired after the alien's response as politely as possible, "I may be able to help you find this leak... The mind withholds few secrets from me, when I'm looking."

"I'll almost certainly be safe, sir." Cyrus responded softly, placing one hand gently against a wall, leaning into it slightly. "I've been through a hell of a lot more than most men have, something as simple as escorting a water shipment should be a cakewalk." Despite his words, he didn't seem arrogant or cocky, but better qualified the longer he spoke - it was probably because of the smoothness in his voice, or how prepared he was. He began to tap on the wall very lightly with his fingers, resisting the urge to hum along with it, as he didn't want to annoy his co-workers or Mr. Worthington, the latter of whom he turned to.

"You can count on me to protect the shipment, Mr. Worthington, and I'm sure Miss Alice will do an excellent job when it comes to tracking down the source of the leak. Your little problem will, with any luck, be dealt with in no time."

Only a few months ago I was caught by surprise because I let my guard down, Asher thought, leaving this thought open to Alice.
I very nearly died that day. Staying vigilant is what is keeping me running.

He'd grown to tolerate her probing his mind every now and then, but he still had boundaries and she respected that.

Asher took a closer examination of the others in the room. Maybe he was just being a tad bit too paranoid this time. The stress generated from such a lifestyle, one would think, would severely hinder his psychic abilities; however, this was not the case. When he was channeling his energy, it soothed his mind and provided some kind of...minor euphoria? He could not explain it. Now was not the time to ponder such things, however.

He remained silent.

"Miss Vendral it is amusing how you think finding the leak was your idea. As I said before it is hardly a coincident that you are all here. You were all hired because I thought you would have potential." Marcus thought that these people might actually be the ones. Enigma.... This group was just as likely to destroy the cargo as save it, but he had to take the chance. Hopefully if they surprised him it would be in a positive way.

Marcus turned to Jaxn, ?There are two Trucks outside waiting for you.? Mr. W doubted they would miss them since they had Superburger decals all over the things. ?Here is a key.? Mr. W threw Cyrus a card shaped thing.

Cyrus would know that was a type of keycard that was popular now and days. It only worked with who had permission to use it. The car would basically scan the card whenever it was near and every other function was like the vehicles of the past.

?You people sure like to stand around and talk.? Nick turned to Mr. Y and scoffed, ?If you need me I'll be in the truck and I'm driving this time.? Nick left the group behind and walked out of the office. As Nick stepped out of the office he could see the wall of windows that was immediately before him. He could clearly see the Hospital and how most of the upper floors were still in repair. It hurt to think about it, just like the wars. He didn't think he would have seen that many people die. Not again. He mustered his strength and turned to the stair that lead down into Superburger's dining area.

He past a man behind a counter. He gave Nick a dull look. The man was almost instantly forgettable. On the far side of the room sat a Police Officer. It was our regular Mr. Person. That was such a horrible name. Nick could hardly believe that such a last name existed, but it did. He went out the front door. There he was the two Trucks. He went over to first truck and opened the driver-side door. It was funny how these electric cars just opened for you.

"Alright, then. Thank you, Mister Worthington, I won't let you down." Cyrus said softly, catching the keycard and waving for the rest of the group to follow as he left the office, paying little attention to anything save his destination. And so he went downstairs and into the parking lot, strolling to the truck Nick hadn't already gotten into, and mimicked the other man in hopping in on the driver's side. It was there he waited for... Well, whoever else woudl be getting into the same vehicle as he did.

Janx nodded to Worthington, and left the room, glad to be acting rather than merely talking. Following Cyrus, he went for the truck, but instead climbed in the back to allow himself more room.

"Well, don't start laughing now, sir, or I may get offended and not do it..." Alice replied to Mr. Worthington with a joking grin before picking up her guitar case and following Cyrus, Janx and Nick out the door. As she walked she responded to Asher's thought, I know you've been through quite a bit but you've got me around! An insect can't fart without me knowing about it... The psychic was glad he was getting over her being in his head as a pass time, she soon returned to the job she'd been given and listened to the thoughts around her intently. Alice probed the minds of all the Super Burger employees within range for any indication of them knowing something important about the leak, trying not to make it obvious that she was but leaving out no one, including the police officer. She also looked for any other useful knowledge regarding her mission as she finally reached the trucks, hoping into the passenger seat of Cyrus's vehicle, Nick's distortion made it difficult to use her powers and gave her a headache. "Right," She smiled to the man, placing the guitar on her lap before shutting her door, "Shall we?"
