I think the story goes they have until (insert date here) before they have to renew the payment on theri servers, I doubt they're closing it down.

well that's stupid, the main reason I wanted to get a Ps3 was because of Demon's Souls. If you lose so much I'm not so sure anymore.

So, maybe a dumb question, but what does it mean for the game once the servers close down? No more of seeing the "other players" (or the ghosts of) during the game?

Just a dumb made up rumor because of Atlus' upcoming merger and people not understanding what that means.

A month or so ago Atlus said server support for the US was extended thru March of 2011 and will be looked at again around that time to see if they need to extend server support. So thats about 6 more months minimum left.
