I was discussing game demos with a friend recently, mainly are there any demos you refuse to play so you can enjoy the game fully on release and if there any demo's you've played to death?

For example I probably racked up more hours playing the MGS 2 demo than I ever did on the full game. I played the Tekken 4 demo constantly on the PS2 but never bought it when it came out.

What are yours?

I've played a ton of Demos to death but I couldn't list them all here.
Most recently is probably the GH: Aerosmith demo, downloaded it to discover it has all the Aerosmith songs I'd want to play on it anyway, so there was no need to go out and buy the full game. Not bad..

I usually enjoy the Demos of Extreme Sports Games (Especially Tony Hawk) more than the full game afterwards...i'm still unable to explain why.

I love Demos and play just about everything that even might interest me in the slightest, with some interesting results (try to play Madden with no knowledge whatsoever how (american) football works)

EDIT: Exact Same thing as Dutt with me on the Aerosmith Demo. Just about every song i want to play is there. Will probably stay on my Harddrive forever now

I must have played the demo for skate. about, 100 times. Colin McRae DiRT 50 times or so. And I still loved both games when I got the full version.

Always play a demo if you can. Best indicator of if you'll like it or not.

I played the CoD4 demo more than I played the game.(well, I played the demo level five times more than I played any other level)

Demoes are a good thing.
Not really. Demos are just another hype tool. Used right, you'll like the game as much as you like the demo, used wrong and you end up feeling cheated.

Jericho did it right, it showed there were QTEs and explained the controls properly while stopping halfway through the level.(Yes, I liked Jericho, no I didn't have the same problems as others had)
CoD4 did it wrong, when I finished the demo, I felt as if the middle of the level was cut out. Only to find out that it was the entire level when I finally bought the game.(Yes, I liked CoD4, but I liked the demo more when I could still think the demo had only half a level)

FLATOUT UC.

Played that thing to death.

Might I also say GrimRox, that is the best picture in the world!
I must say Danzorz, that your picture is pretty ace too.

I thought I'd add the Dead Rising demo to my list, I played it for hours at a time trying to get more kills!

Over the past couple of weeks I've played the Call of Juarez demo through about a dozen times. I can't get enough... but then I also can't justify buying the full game when Oct/Nov is going to be so ruinous to my bank balance already.

There's only one demo I've ever refused to play and that was BioShock. Best decision of my gaming life!

Man... i haven't played a Demo since the start of the PS2 age...
I can't remember which demo was the last one i played... was Monster Hunter and that's only because it came with DMC3
But i don't find anything wrong with Demos, a clean insight into a game you're potentially thinking about buying can't be bad.

But as i said, i haven't bought/played any in a long while.
I also don't follow up on current affairs when it comes to game releases unless i was interested before announcement.
(example: Fable 2)
