Ninja Blade! :D

And I loved it for all it was worth.

EDIT: And Tenchu Z, which was also a good choice.
Oh god... Ninja Blade... I looked at that, and saw too many similarities to ninja gaiden (also they even ripped off the exact same font of writing!)
They basically ripped off the whole game.

Supreme Commander (I was fairly sold to begin with) and Prey (knew nothing about the game prior) are the only two demos I've played in recent years, and both warranted purchases.

Hmmm, probably the most recent would be Batman: Arkham Asylum. The last time I remember playing a demo and running out to get the game before that was the original Hitman.

Most recently, I wasn't really thinking about getting Batman: Arkham Asylum but after trying the demo I had to play the full game. Although, I tried the demo on PC and ended up getting it for my PS3.

It may look like that, with its modern-day ninjas fighting demons and stuff, but really it's absolutely nothing like it. It puts the focus not on perfect skill like NG1 or overly gratuitous gore like NG2, instead it strives to be as over-the-top as it can manage, and it manages quite a lot.
For me it's almost as if saying Master Chief ripped off Link because he's also wearing a green suit, the two are nothing alike and I'm enjoying Ninja Blade a lot lot more.

Left 4 Dead 2, that demo was shit but i still bought the game, seriously if they had added half of the next level it would've been better

Having to admit makes it sound guilty. So I'll say one i made the mistake.

Osmos. tried the demo and thought it could be ok, but still a little limited. It wasn't really the demo that was holding it back. Even on the steam half price deal at the measly £2.49 (ish) didn't make it worth it.

Brutal Legend's demo made me buy it because I thought it was a Heavy Metal themed hack and slash. Which it was... For the first half the game. The only video game I ever sold within a day of buying.
You sell a game the day you buy it because the game tries to be a more action based RTS where you are the most powerful unit and can cause fiery death to rain on your foes with the right strategy and use of solos? Which it achieves? Eh, not everyone can enjoy stuff like that.

O.T. I'd say Brutal Legend if it weren't for me being sold by the first official trailer.

P.S. I'm not criticizing your choice of selling the game, well ok I am but i'm not being a smug asshole about it, but it just seems odd to sell a game when you haven't beaten the single player and didn't obviously have much time to master the Actiony RTS-ish system.
No I got to the second to last RTS where you fight the girl at the sea of black tears and said fuck this and i sold it the next day.
Fair enough. I'm still trying to beat that ***** on Brütal difficulty.

The WoW Trial made me want to continue playing. One of my major regrets in life... downloading and playing the client. >.<

Well, I have the illegal version of Left 4 Dead 2, which only allows me to play singleplayer. I'm gonna buy the real game after mid-year exams.... does that count?

For me, Fear 2. There was a moment in the demo that where I literally backed into a corner, scared for my life. I was legitimately frightened. Only to find out that the Demo had nothing at all to do with the actual game and the actual game was less scary than finding leftovers in your fridge from last year.

Halo Wars.

The demo was excellent. Simple, fun, and to the point. Unfortunately the main game was imbalanced (lol Warthog rush) and basically the exact same thing as the demo. I expected a hell of a lot more units and maps, but they just weren't there. THe campaign was pretty awful too, except for the extremely pretty cutscenes.

played the civilisation revolution demo, loved it. I looked in my localgame shop,it wasn't there. gave my money to a friend as he goes to shopping centre where he had seen it. Turns out he gives the money to his dad so he can buy it a shop near his work. his dad doesn't seeit and my friend doesn't go to the shopping centre. He bought the game online, played the demo himself and ordered a copy of his own.

this was over a week or two and civ rev should arrive tomorow

Batman: AA, Tropico 3, Mirror's Edge, Mercenaries, Maximo vs. Army of Zin, Red Faction: Guerrilla, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Bioshock and Ratchet and Clank. I didn't regret a single one of those purchases .

Just Cause 2(the best demo I've played) and Left 4 Dead 2(Alebeit a lot later than on launch) are the two that are most prominent in mind. There are definetly more, but none spring to mind right now.
