Ah, the prom. Where boys will ask that lucky girl to go with them and hope they will be their date. That is, unless you are a porn star.

According to the Huffington Post, 17 year old Mike Stone had asked porn stars via Twitter to attend his high school prom. He recieved repsonses from Megan Piper and Emy Reyes after nearly 600 tweets, provided he pay for the airfare (approx. $400). Megan Piper was going to be his lucky date, but now the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School District in Minnesota says she cannot attend any prom in their district, warning that they will arrest her if she comes. The reason:
The rules state that the district has the right to deny any person admission to a school-sponsored event if the visit is not in the best interest of students, employees or the school district, or if it substantially disrupts the orderly operation of school or school activities

I, personally, believe that he should be allowed to go to the prom with her, despite her background.

Do you think she should be allowed to go to the prom?

Sorry but I got to say dammm! He must of been desperate to pay for a porn star to be his date.

As for the topic I would of think it could of work as long no one recognise her however he and she would of raise suspicion anyway (seeing a student with a really hot date who you never seen before would of raise alot of questions).
Overall I'm fine that it's denined as he clearly got some issue to deal with (or he was that horny or desperate).

As long as she's not attending in unacceptable attire, there is no reason she should be denied. It "causing a disruption" is just a bullshit excuse for them having the socially conservative stick up their ass.

I'm actually not sure what I think of this!

On one hand, it seems unfair to ban her on the grounds of a legal profession. (incidentally and off topic: how is it that porn is legal but prostitution isn't? Makes no sense. They should just legalise both)

But then on the other hand, schools do have the right to decide who attends social events, and I can see how a pornstar attending a youth event would bring the school into disrepute. Additionally, since not everyone there is legally an adult, the school does have a duty of care which could possibly be broken in this situation.
Also, once there's a precedent for this kind of thing it opens the door to it happening frequently, which wouldn't be ideal. Renting a date does kind of send the wrong message and is frankly a little demeaning to women. (I know that's a slippery slope argument, and I'm sorry! It is relevant though)

The school is going to get in hot water either way. Parents will pull their kids out if she's allowed in, and liberals will go apeshit if she isn't.

Yeah, they are pretty much damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Haha, fair play for trying, though it is a little sad :p And yea, they should just have the guts to say what their problem is with her going, instead of making up trumped up charges. Also, sure I think she should be allowed go, just so his plan can backfire when she is bought out from under him by a mate :)

Sorry, should they allow him to bring a hooker? Why yes that is perfectly reasonable...

*googled her name* Well now with her under my arm I certainly wouldn't waste time on prom, I'm thinking they did him a favor there.

By desperate you mean awesome, right?

Desperate for attention, I'd say. Seriously, it's not an "awesome" thing to do, and if I had a kid and he blew 400 bucks on something like that I'd take some disciplinary measures.

I don't really care about what they do with his prom, but seriously, just for trying to go for "LOL a porn star was my prom date, I'm so awesomely fabulous" he deserves to be slapped around a bit with a large trout. (bonus points for recognizing this)

Honestly? Their motivation; I don't agree with. Their decision? Yes. Flying in people for 400$ so you can prom date somebody you never met? Buy bubblegum for the cash and bring a girl who's native to the area, sayeth I.

I know, right? I wouldn't do it, but the kid's got balls for asking. They need to stop castrating kids and let them have their sans-permit tea stands and porn star prom dates.

I must be unclear on what exactly a prom is, but shouldn't the fact that she isn't a student automatically exclude her anyway? Isn't prom a celebration of graduation?

Yeah, but most proms (atleast the UK ones we seem to have imported) allow students to bring a girl/boyfriend to it if they aren't from the school.

Balls. On Twitter? Now, had he sent an actual mail or called, I might have been willing to believe that, but tweeting is something else, and I don't see how it takes more "balls" than knocking over a dustbin in Shaftsbury.
