You guys are confusing me. :I

When that MW3 gaming night came up with thousands of people attending- people got up in arms about a Porn Star being rejected to attend because of her background despite that she got an invitation first hand. But the same thing happens (not exactly but similar) and no one really minds that a Porn Star is denied entry now.

Come now, it's discrimination on the school's part just like the ME3 live event. I understand the school's concern but she's not going to do anything reckless really. She's well known and most likely going to behave at prom plus since the guy was willing to pay $400 he might as well take her out on a date to make up for prom. I'd rather have that anyways, prom is alright but to dramatic for most folk these days if they don't got a date *shrug*.
I guess its cuz in the MW3 event it was suppose to be with "adults" and in the prom it's a teenager taking a porn star to the prom.

Also lol this reminds me of 21 Jump Street where some of the nerds got hookers as dates to the prom XD
You saw that movie in theaters too? Me and my best bros went to see that- It was...
HILARIOUS beyond what I expected. But you must remember-

<spoiler=Spoilers on the movie>The gym teacher was the paying crook who was behind that 'drug' deal plus those nerds did not tweet who their prom dates were. Besides the movie couldn't bother getting into that mess, they didn't even care about the school trying to judge those two undercover cops. Most of the 'dick' jokes were funny but I shall never forget the scene at the end.

"You shot him in the dick?!" LOL priceless. Sorry but I busted up crying after that shot took.

AHAHAHAHHAHA oh dear

I love it when things get out of hand like that.

The pornographic actress is only 19 years old, and she did not to get to attend her own prom. She says she was looking forward to doing "all the normal things kids would be doing for prom." Based on these details I think she should have been allowed to attend. Discrimination against people based on their legal occupation is just wrong.

Another thing, these stories seem to always involve porn actresses. What about the guys? It's wrong either way, but if it's only the women that face discrimination then it's even worse. It's statistically likely that many school administrators involved in this decision enjoy viewing porn, when they're not busy discriminating against people.

I'm actually not sure what I think of this!

On one hand, it seems unfair to ban her on the grounds of a legal profession. (incidentally and off topic: how is it that porn is legal but prostitution isn't? Makes no sense. They should just legalise both)
Well prostitution itself isnt actually illegal its the act of soliciting prostitution thats illegal. You cant sleep with somebody for money but you cant offer somebody money to sleep with you. Also with porn they are paying somebody to act in a movie, not to fuck somebodys brains out. It just so happens that that is what the movie is about.
You sure about that? Plenty of places where that's true, including here (Canada), but I was under the impression that in much of the US prostitution itself is illegal.

I mean, how old is this porn star? I know in my county that I went to high school in, you couldn't invite anyone age 21 or older to prom. I realize that they are probably denying her because of her profession, but she probably can't attend for other reasons.
I believe she's 19 or 20

Megan Piper? Never heard of here. To pornhub!
Do you think this is just a stunt by her? She had to know the odds were against her attending, but now everyone knows who she is, and now searches on her have skyrocketed. And now people everywhere are searching her name, and watching her films, hell she probably just earned herself a new contract or something

I heard she accepted because she never went to her own prom.

Honestly, I cant even be bothered to think about it. I couldnt give a fuck about pornstars and publicity stunts if I tried. I mean, who even buys porn anymore?
Still a savvy move, even if unintended.

And it's a horrible tragedy....but people do pay for porn

I...don't see why the girl was denied. Considering the people that have gone to prom in dresses made of duct tape, starburst wrappers, newspaper...I really don't see how the pornstar thing could have been that big of a distraction. Who gives a damn?

Four hundred dollars seems like a lot of money to spend just to get a date for the prom. Plus there is the cost of having to purchase two tickets and the option of renting a tuxedo. I never went to prom so I am guessing the tickets and tuxedo would be about two hundred or three hundred dollars altogether. So basically the kid spends over six hundred dollars for a few hours dancing with a porn star.

He can spend his money anyway he wants but it seems like a foolish waste of money to me.

I think this boy is missing the point of proms. They're supposed to be awkward, antiquated, mentally scaring occasions. Not fun or interesting, as he seems to believe.
The school is merely looking to preserve the traditional atmosphere of a High School Promenade.

(NOTE: I have never actually attended one, but first hand opinion is nearly unanimous on this)
