What do you expect when you post a picture of yourself on the internet; most of the time it's because you're seeking some form attention (especially females), and they got it. So now, they protest!?
After having read everything Jak wrote, what you just said is the most insulting thing I've seen.

Please don't make assumptions...
It's not an assumption. It was hard to find proof, but I found something related. Two thirds of Facebook.com users are female, hmmm, I could only assume...

6 foot 200 hundred lbs in descent shape. Light skin that hardly ever tans yet never burns, Black Hair and dark brown sometime hazel eyes. My papa is Irish y mi madre es Mexicana, so it's an interesting mix. I'm told I look like John Cusack and a few times I've been told I look like a mix between Elvis and Antonio Banderas.

Tis I on the right, con mi madre y mi abuela.

You have a big head...
Il mio amico, mi prendono in giro
Lol, bite me. Actually it does look big in that picture, it's because my mom and grandma are quite small.
Yeah, that's the thing xD
They are so small, it makes you look like the Jolly Green Giant xD

That's it, don't make me come through this internet!

What exactly does that irrelevant [albeit interesting] factoid has anything to do with the fact that photo-posting, according to you, equals attention seeking?

That was what I meant by assumption, sir.

I apologize if it seems I'm ranting at you, but I've been called an 'attention whore' on multiple occasions on this site due to the fact that I put a real picture of myself up as my avatar.

Just plain silly.

If you put a real picture up as your avatar, that just means that you generally like your appearance. You shouldn't berate someone just because they have self confidence.

Gah, people and discussions, it is almost certain that no one thing will apply to everyone. Even so, whether you're being honest or in denial, pictures are meant to be shared, so other people will respond. Posting pictures = responses. Facebook = scrapbooker's dream, many pictures = many responses. One receives a response because they have garnered someone's attention. So why post a picture unless you want some responses, or attention? There is nothing wrong with it; it is the sole reason why we are all here in these forums. We just want some attention.

Also, my assumption was an assumption with backed-up stats, so one could assume that it's not an assumption.

I used to be 150 pounds and clinically obese at 12 years old. Lol,I know where you're coming from. What made you want to change?
being picked on for most of my life, having people throw rocks, pine cones, food, generally sharp things at me.. ganging up on me and beating me... but really in the end i didn't change for them i changed for me. I didn't want to die young and just so i could improve my self esteem.. and as as a big FUCK YOU too the ass holes saying that i was too pathetic and ugly to do anything about it

I don't come on the Escapist for attention, I come here to discuss things with people. I thought that was normal, but apparently not.

If your 'stats' consisted of a survey on why people post pictures, with the result predominantly being 'for attention' or 'for comments', then yes it would no longer be an assumption. The fact that your 'stats' were only vaguely related to the subject, and didn't back up your statement whatsoever doesn't make it 'not an assumption'...

Mmm,the reason I decided to lose weight is a little less exciting. I was climbing over my fence one day and bam,I slipped and got impaled on one of my fat manbreasts. I had to hoist my 150 pound self off of the wooden pike, and then clean myself up,because my parents wern't home. I still have the scar.It was a really nasty gash, around 6-7 inches long where it scraped and then impaled me. And thats why I stopped eating cake and pizza. Its actually quite horrific.

Hey! I only said if you were offering.
I'd fight Max, but not Bob, he's always been quite nice to me.

Max, on the other hand, tells me I'm an icky old woman. *shakes fist*

Nahh, they're both on the Good List. :D

Good for you, and I am completely sincere when I say that.

I was a bit fugly myself when I was younger, and was bullied as a kid.
So yay for the ugly duck syndrome!?

Though you had to work to lose weight, which I applaud.

Well, its not mine. I wasn't in my state. And it belonged to a Federal Agent.

But yeah, the trenchcoat was a bit to hot in the desert.
