Everyone knows about Garry's Mod, right? Well for those who don't, it's a 2006 modification of the Source engine that allows you to build and create things using the game's engine.

With the current version being Garry's Mod 13, so much has been added. So I ask you, fellow Escapists, how do you play Gmod?

Minimal - You have little to no addons installed. You prefer to play Gmod with its most basic tools. What you lack in content you make up for in lighting fast loading times.

NPCAholic - You love NPCs. Everything from replicator bugs to giant flying dragons, artificial intelligence facinates you. You often have fun making huge NPC wars.

Builder - You're a constructor. You like experimenting with the physics by building things such as cars, buildings, and traps.

Role-player - You live out your fantasies in gmod. Whether playing as a City 17 citizen or mayor of an entire town, you like to play pretend.

Fighter - It's all about combat for you. Most of your addons consist of weapons and combat tools. You may enjoy deathmatching with others.

Socializer - You love multiplayer. Everything from Zombie Survival to Trouble In Terrorist Town, you have the most fun when you're with other people.

Other - You have your own style of play. Describe your style below.

Well I guess I'm a socialiser, even if I wouldn't describe my experience as that. I basically just played a shit-ton of Trouble in Terrorist Town with my friends - and got fairly skilled at it too. I played a bit with the sandbox mode and some of the smaller game-modes but they didn't really last very long. I found the sandbox to be too constricting for anything I wanted to make.

I pretty much just faff about on the Big City level. Sometimes I'll line up 40 Dr. Breens in a row and go down the line punching them all in the face. Sometimes I spawn a ton of zombies and a ton of resistance and watch them fight it out. Sometimes I see how many exploding barrels I can blow up at once before the game crashes. I've put about 58 hours into it, and I've never even tried multiplayer.

Administrator it seems as of late. I was the head admin of the largest EU server for a time and the 5th largest Gmod server. Needless to say it was incredibly stressful and unrewarding, with the owners being greedy thieving little bandits. So screw them.

Otherwise, survivalist - gotta love zombie survival.

Other, actually. I use it as a sort of development sandbox, as well as a movie-making tool. It's a pretty good way to get your map and model-making skills up to snuff, and you can write new commands in lua.

Mostly NPCAholic, Roleplayer and Fighter.

Gmod RP, while being full of cunts, is still the best "MMO-ish" experience I ever had, in there you can actually aspire to be something that affects everything and everyone on that server (the dynamic of the server changes a lot depending on what people are doing and a single player can turn the whole thing into something else).
