There is so much fail in this thread...
Bioware and Obsidian? Am I the only one who remembers Alpha Protocol? Obsidian made its name by leeching off of Bioware, and still managed to fuck their own asses.
Actually... Alpha Protocol is the WORST example of Obsidian ripping off Bioware, because:
a) It wasn't a sequel to a Bioware game like KotOR II (still great game though) and NWN2.
b) Alpha Protocol is not ripping Bioware at all. It's just third perspective, and have cover system like EVERY SINGLE title involving shooting these days. That's all, there's nothing from Mass Effect here, except maybe from dialog wheel, which was made different as well. If it rips off anything, it's Deus Ex in terms of gameplay mechanics, and I prefer the word 'inspire' rather than 'rip-off' here.
c) Lately (flame shield up!) it's Bioware who's taking notes from Alpha Protocol. What, you don't believe me? Then look at Dragon Age II. Dialog pie - you can clearly tell, that it's not very ME-like pie. Instead, we usually have nice, sarcastic/funny and aggressive option + investigate, and a bonus option on specific occasion. That's pretty much AP's dialog system minus timer (professional - nice, suave - sarcastic/funny, aggressive - well... aggressive). Friend-rival system, that gives you a different bonus from your companions as well as their possible help/betrayal at some point (btw, totally better than approve/disapprove system). Who did that first? Yep, AP. Choices that actually matter in-game? Finally here (although it's still a little bit illusionary, but at least now they try unlike their older games and ME 1/2 so far), after AP showed the world that it can be done.
So yeah. My perfect combo would be Obsidian + Bioware as well. They would work together to bring an interesting story, then Obsidian makes a properly working choice system and throws up a lot of good ideas, while Bioware polishes the game, so it looks awesome and has less bugs, which is about the only thing that Obsidian lacks.
From other interesting pairings... How about Quantic Dream (Heavy Rain) + Team Bondi (L.A. Noire)? We haven't seen the final result of the Australian's work, but imagine that sweet, sweet graphic from HR combined with those facial animations. And I'm sure they could come up with some really good detective story/murder mystery together.
