Pretty much anything involving the Citadel Presidium in either Mass Effect game.

There was a planet in Mass Effect that had a ring around it. I drove up a mountain in the Mako, and then stopped and looked up, because it looked amazing.

I was so awestruck that I drove straight off the top of the mountain, while still looking up.

The first time I used The MCs special attack in Soul Nomad, it was my first Nippon Ichi game so I was quite taken aback with the insanity of it, then I used that item that raises your level by 200, I'd never seen so many numbvers in my life till that moment.

The Meat Circus from Psychonauts.

Not only did I say "Wow", I said quite a few other, more horrified things.

The sound design in Battlefield BC2. When I fired a weapon in a small space for the first time and heard the echo and the sheer noise I was almost deafened. Fantastic stuff.

The map design in Split/Second Velocity. The most impressive is definetly when the plane crashes, it's such a "ohhhh myyyyyy gooooooddd!!!!" section to see that coming towards you. Was fantastic.

The gaae Infinite Space had some really impressive spaceship designs and the Evstafi had a sleek and powerful design feel to it (sorry no image of it).

The dragons in Breath of Fire 4. The entire game was a perfect example of subtle and cohesive design, boasting a beautiful, pastel world that played like a walk through a watercolor. The dragons were an especially gorgeous example of the splendid art design being both inhumanly huge and powerful as well as a very smooth extension of the naturalism and mythology inherent in the game.

The Citadel in Half-Life 2 (inside and outside) just floored me, and a good portion of Portal 2's previews have a similar effect.

Also, the Colossi from Shadow of the Colossus are absolutely stunning (I haven't played the game, but I've seen it in action at a cousin's place).

Once (and only once) I played the demo for Just Cause 2. I flipped out upon realizing the sheer size of the game map. Honestly, it's slightly terrifying.

Speaking of map size, the views from Dive Rock and the Spirit Realm both show off the entire map in a very satisfying way. First time I found Dive Rock I remember thinking to myself "now THAT is level design."

Speaking of which...

The first time I climbed the Rock in Oblivion and looked down and saw... everything. And not only saw it, but knew that I could go ANYWHERE I saw. A lot of games are big (Assassin's Creed, for example) but there are always gaps. Always loading screens. But here, it was just... damn.
I know exactly how you felt, but in my case it was when I climbed the lighthouse in Gothic 2 and looked down, or when I first came upon the mountains and the canyon in the addon world... and even more intensely when I looked back from the entrance to Cape Dun and saw Ardea, the town where I came from, perched atop a cliff in the distance, and realized those were only the first two towns in Gothic 3.

Recently, I've been blown away by the entire planet of Illium, but especially the Assassin recruitment mission. Looking down from that tower was fantastic.

I think the first time you take an aircraft high up in Just Cause 2 counts as a 'wow' moment. You can look out over the miles and miles of terrain and realise you can fly to any part of it whenever you want.

Look at it!

Also, that part in Crysis when you first look out over the hill at dawn and the sun is rising through the trees and the bushes. I won't upload a screenshot since it wouldn't do it justice.

Oh yes. I once had to take off my headset to work out whose dog was barking behind me. Even after I realised the noise stopped when I took it off, I still didn't believe it was coming from the game. It was that realistic.

Add in the incredible soundtrack and pretty good writing, and you have one awesome gameplay experience.

This.

I died the first time just because I was blown away.

and Isaac Clark's suit in Dead Space 1. I'd never seen anything like it, the helmets were all so otherworldly.

Every single part of Shadow of the Colossus, the way the world in that game feels it just awesome, and the way Colossi look, and feel like they are full of power. The first time I played it was amazing, it still kind of amazes me when I play it now, but not as much

Easily the most amazing part was the fight against Kuromori(Four legged lizard, he's on the smaller edge of the Colossi) in the Colosseum like ruins
