By the way, say deus ex very quickly. Makes it sound like a much more fun game than it is!!
Untrue, that makes it sound like some sort of pornographic game, which many people find incredibly... I won't say boring... un-fun?

Though since Deus Ex tends to come up in conversation a lot with one of my friends, we say it relatively fast, and everyone starts giving us weird looks or thinking we're perverts.

I had to careful saying that out loud when talking about it ;)
So, I say: Day Us Exx, instead hehe. A god from the machine, although, in this case I guess it would mean 'A god from' or something. :D

I loved deus ex too - great writing, nice atmosphere. There's one thing i really remember though. I loved it while I was playing it because it felt like my choices were making a degree of difference. But then *after* i'd played it i had this bitter taste because i realised you always end up in the same damn place anyway. Same thing happened with farenheit/indigo prophecies except that it stops making a difference after the first bloody chapter...

Are they scared of people feeling like they have to replay the game in order to get all the endings? They would already have to, to get all the content in the middle! That's the very *definition* of replayability! And it would feel so nice if there was pay-off as endings that reflected the tendencies your character showed through the game...

Well...maybe, but, Deus Ex came out in 2000, a year after The Matrix in 1999, but, trenchcoats and sunglasses at all times aside, they aren't all that similar.

Sand-paper review style aside, time has proven that Deus Ex is indeed my favorite game. It won out over my inherent nostalgia for Wing Commander 2, which is saying something.

Setting aside your obvious attempt to copy the abrasive style of a Certain Escapist Magazine Reviewer, your reviews could actually be mildly amusing if you realised that a good review can be funny without swearing or insulting the game itself or other games.

Deus Ex is a good game with a lot going for it, particulatly the writing and atmosphere however it suffers from a problem that plagues a lot of stealth based games (assuming you play it stealth style) after a while it feels like you are going through the motions unlocking the umpteenth door with the umpteenth lock pick or multitool. That said its still a great game and one of the few that manages to blend RPG and FPS without dumbing one side down so far that it might as well not exist.
