Seems to be showing a fairly inconsequential part of the game, so I can't really get any kind of good judgement from it. Although it does seem to be continuing the sort of multiple-path level design that I liked about the first Deus Ex.

I have to agree on the yellow highlighting; it reminds me of the blue highlighting in Thief 3. I think it was the third one at least.

That said, I do look forward to playing it. I am late to the party for the series. I already have the first one and have been meaning to play it. All the more excuse to do so.

The question is, should I get the second to catch up with the story or just read about what happens?
You can play the first one if you want, it's got the better story out of the first 2, but it can be pretty slow going at the start and the graphics are showing their age a bit. If that does put you off, you can play the 2nd, although the story isn't near as good, there's still some interesting interactions going on, and there's many avenues to explore each section through. I loved them both, regardless of what critics say. Been a while since I played either though.

I'm anticipating this quite a bit, so much in fact that I don't even want to know too much about it because I'm sure it'll blow my socks off in any case, and the less I know = greater effect (same approach I take to movies)

Oh god damn it, another one designed by Brown & Browner inc. ?
The gameplay looks good, but is it really that hard to have an actual color pallet? Not everything needs to look like Call a doody

Well there's me going through the vents every time, when you can vent your way through stopping to hose everyone down and kick the front door in just seems like you've failed.

Eh... looks a bit lackluster... but it was just an early mission so I'll wait for the full game...<.<

*sigh* that was entirely underwheling. and on a side note, why the fuck was everything glowing? there better be an off function for that.
Amen. First project for the modding community if it isn't an option.
Looks uber linear from that demo.

Well, it's only the first level. Probably part of a tutorial if anything.

LINEAR!? I cant watch the video while at work, but I guess its the new one with the women talking.
They showed three diffrent ways to play a little section of a level. How is this linear? It's like saying Gordon Freeman talks to much.

Do NOT get the second one unless you want to be pretty disappointed. This seems to be a prequel anyway. The main character looks a *lot* like that guy that was always wearing sunglasses that wasn't the main character in the first Deus Ex game, thought it was the same person myself. Also their technology level is back to when those agents were mechanically altered, rather than with nanomachines or wtfever it was.

Why does the atmosphere look like every human and animal on Earth all just farted at the same time?

I may or may not get it. It's a risky title, since I don't like playing games from the first-person perspective. But the stealth aspect is enough to intrigue me.
