Apparently, Advertisements have made there way into Deus Ex: HR loading screens, probably after a patch.

I'm not sure if this is only affecting PC version or consoles too, but this seems like a bit of a dick move.

Your thoughts?

This has got to be just PC related. Anyway, if it starts happening, just pull out the ethernet cable - no more internet, no more ads. Simple

Problem SOLVED.

I so LOVE PC mods.

But still, this is a massive dick move.
Well, that solves this problem! Much Thanks.

If that's true, that would really be a dick move indeed.

I tried to start the game to be sure, says it's unavailable currently x.x

If they're really bent on having ads, they could at least have the decency to place them ingame as DX:HR's world is filled of [fake] ads.

...

Fuck you, Square Enix.

In all likelihood it's their fault as opposed to Eidos', publishers love their moneys.

So what? Loading screens are death of immersion anyway so a little add banner there doesn't make any difference to me. Not the end of the world.

Considering the amount of loading screens in that game, that's a long time you're going to be staring at ads.

Having ads on the loading screen is just plain bullshit. I understand they want to make as much money as possible but doing it in such a blatant way frustrates me.

Wait, you mean that tiny little unobtrusive banner near the bottom? Meh. I have more important things to ***** about. Down with World of Diablocraft!

P.S. this was a joke, and not an attempt to derail the thread.

Oh no, adverts.
Not too sure why this is a problem if it's just in loading screens anyway.

??? The game takes about 2 seconds to load for me. Then again I'm on the PC, so that might have something to do with it...

Anyway, note to Square/Eidos/advertizers: any ad I see in-game I will make a note of, and not buy that product. Just out of spite.

I hope more people do this, so we can stop the annoying-ass ads. I put up with them enough on TV and on the internet, and at the start of DVD's, and on the radio. I don't want them in my damn games.

Do you think they'll patch the ending buttons to be sponsored by companies as well?

Wahay! That was quick. Modding is one of the best bits about PC gaming yeah.

I do agree though, real dick move. In-game advertising has and most likely will always be a problem because unless it's free and the ads are there to generate revenue they shouldn't be in a paid game.
