Thats a hard question. Not sure what id give a 10 to. One of the closest games would maybe be uncharted 2 but not a 10. I was thinking about giving Deus Ex HR a 8.75 again but i started a second play through as i was doing my review and one of the side quests won me an extra .25 :D

I didnt say i hated the AI. I thought the fact that they are realistic was a good thing. :D

Interesting. I liked the review, it's short and snappy and to the point - everything a video review should be. And you showed some interesting gameplay too. Just two questions:

How easy is the hacking? From what I've heeard online and from friends it looks and sounds quite complicated.

How easy is it to stealth? I've tried a few games as a stealth person (E.g. Alpha Protocol) and found stealth hard, as the A.I can catch you from miles away when your not even moving.

The hacking might be alittle confusing at first, but you'll learn rather quickly. There is even an 'Help' tab during the hacking as a quick reminder of what is what.

The stealth ain't that bad either. Personally, I think it's great. As mentioned in the video above, the AI might at times seem alittle oblivious but it never really bothered me. All you need though is good timing and an eye on your surroundings.

Hope that helped.

*EDIT* Great review btw!

Good review, although I disagree. I do not think that this game deserves any more than a 7/10.

what makes you say that?
i personally think it deserves around a 9
extremely fun, great soundtrack, good difficulty curve
the only bad things are the irrelevant boss battles and the sometimes jarring and offsitting of the voiceovers

Here's a list:
The boss battles
The forced stealth
The poor characterization of the majority of the characters
The unsatisfying and ultimately pointless endings.

While some of the voice work is bad, such as when Jensens VA try to do a Batman impression, I think it's a the dialogue that needs the work.

However, I did find the gameplay rather fun. I just wish they wouldn't have hyped up the "stealth or guns blazing" thing, because it devolves into 20% gunfights, 80% stealth, if you don't want to die in ten seconds, which is fine, just not when people tell you you can do otherwise.

And the hacking. Damn the hacking. I don't see why I can punch through walls yet doors are required to be hacked.

I really hated the boss fights and some of the endings, plus I dont like Gray shades of morality.

Also I feel like that the game forces you to steal because fighters have less advantages rather then people who hack or stealth.

I hope you don't give anything a 10, maybe a 9.9. Nothing will ever be done to absolute perfection, it is not possible for something to have no shortcomings, especially due to the fact that a unified vision is almost never completely unified.

P.S. do you have a longer written version of this and dead island?
