This is good behaviour, even if it is fueled by fear. I'm sure it will be a great experience, assuming one does not die between now and then. Ahem, Just Cause 3 is soon, isn't it? The let's plays from the beta pretty much secured a purchase from me.

Fueled by fear? That seems to be highly speculative. It's just as likely, more so in my opinion, having heard the amount of personal investment the creators had in DE:HR, that they genuinely don't want to ship out a crappy product.
