That's right ladies and gentlemen. The existence of a new Deus Ex game has been leaked. It will be called Mankind Divided and it will be available on PC/PS4/XboxONE. That's about all the info available at the moment. More to come in the next few days after the official announcement.

Any hope of this being a "good" Deus ex game just went with a snap.

Why,oh,Why is Adam Jensen still around? They gonna retcon HR or pull the same shit as IW? Still, nice to see Eidos being environmentally friendly by recycling.

They don't have to retcon anything. Deus Ex: HR was a prequel. We know what happens in the future.

Looks like the Darrow or Taggart ending is canon because everyone hates augmentations. That kind of sucks because I think Transhumanism is great and always went for the Sarif ending. Although I suppose that ending could never really follow into the world that existed in the original Deus Ex. Oh well, you'll all be infused with nanites by the time the 2070s come round if I have my way. Anyway, really looking forward to this, I'll probably be getting it the day it comes out.

YEEEESSSSS.

I'm excited as fuck for this. Deus Ex: HR was my absolute most favorite game released in recent years, and I honestly loved everything about it. The entire game (minus the bosses) was a home-run, imo. I actually enjoyed it on quite a few more levels than I did the original Deus Ex.

I'm glad to see this is a continuation of Human Revolution. Since I felt the themes and art style introduced into HR really rounded out the Deus Ex universe.

Also, more Adam Jensen. Which is great, because I thought he was a pretty good character. And I'd love to see how he's going to handle following the conspiracies of the first game.

I'm excited. And I wanna see more. This game right here might be my reason to overhaul my PC asap... This is one of the few games that I absolutely refuse to play on a console, and from the screenshots - I think it'd be well worth it to upgrade for this.

I'm legit excited for this game. I only did one playthrough of Human Revolution but I thought it was excellent and had tons of fun with it. Throwing vending machines at cops never felt better.

I liked Adam so I'm fine having him again. I thought Human Revolution did a terrible job at wrapping things up when it came to the characters so hopefully they'll be able to expand on that instead of ignoring it.

I think this game might have the start of Majestic 12 taking over the Illuminati.

Hopefully this one has less broodiness in the MC and makes stealth path viable w/o modding. I cant lie though this announcement is exciting since I did like HR despite its flaws.

That wepon customization screen bugs me. It's hard to put my finger on it, but maybe because it reminds me of crisis 2 or because the scope is called scope 1 rather then it's fluff name. Hr did kind of a good job fluffing out their items. Like you could go to your agu screen and read about the augs that gave you regenerating health and such. It helped the game feel better. You know less like a game and more like a world.

Me too. I am disappointed that they are back. I mean they were kind of a good character (for a video game), but I was just holding out some hope for someone new. My idea was for a female character, so I kind of new it wouldn't happen how I wanted, but disappoint is still disappointing.

Stealth was viable all the way through.. Unless your talking about the boss fights and I hope they don't make that mistake again. It was the biggest problem in HR. Just a crazy bad misstep. No way they are going to make the same mistake again.

Stealth was indeed completely viable throughout the game, except for bosses.

Did you ever play the DLC? The only "boss" encounter in that was far better handled the rest of the ones during the main story.

Seems like Eidos learned from their mistake very quickly. Because that boss encounter in the DLC was entirely possible to do via stealth. I ghosted the entire DLC, and stuck to my stealth during the boss and ended in an extremely satisfying manner. There's just... no possible way they could mess that up again.

I was referring to the boss fights which with a stealth build might as well be called the dark souls mode of playing. I liked stealthiness in the main game though. Hopefully they due away with the boss fights in this one since it is kinda silly having people who are basically bullet/explosion sponges.

Ignoring the fact that HR had multiple endings. I never said anything about reconning DX1 and I wouldn't either because they are not within the same universe per se.

Fixed

Taggart ending is the only logical "cannon" ending. Darrow goes the Tracer Tong route of extremism.

I would have prefered to see another story in the Deus Ex universe, like what HR was to the original. I liked the idea of every game being its own thing, a bit like what Far Cry does (although Far Cry 4 dropped the ball by being almost the exact same game as 3).

This way I am fearing that now Deus Ex as a franchise means yellow and Adam Jensen

Yeah the Taggart ending is the only outcome that will produce DX1. The Darrow ending would not have allowed the start point of DX1 to have happened

Dang, I really like the Sarif ending because I am a big proponent for moving forward with technology. But the Taggart ending makes the most sense franchise wise. It involves the "Illuminati", and it is definitely the most cynical ending that easily sets up the earlier games.

Dammit, did it have to be Jensen again? His Christian Bale-as-Batman voice is irritating as hell, and he's just such a bland standard brooding video game character. Come on, Ubisoft.

More Deus Ex is always a good thing, as far as I'm concerned. That being said, I do kind of agree that I wish they hadn't used Jensen again, for 2 reasons:
1: It basically removes a lot of the choices that you had of what ending you wanted with HR. Like some people said, they could have easily made another Deus Ex game taking place concurrently with HR.
2: Obviously no way to know if they'll do this or not, but I'm REALLY hoping they don't nerf Jensen for whatever reason, and then he has to start at square one and gain all his augmented abilities back.

Oh God, yes.

I'm stupidly excited for this game. I've played Deus Ex: HR: DC a shit load of times, and if the new game is anything like that then I'm gonna be one happy camper.

Jensen was boring and broody but the supporting characters were decent. Perhaps this game will be the same.

Some of the supporting characters were terrific. Why not let us play as one of those?

Maybe let us play as Megan, forced into learning how to defend herself.

OOOOHHH How about Simons?! Let us play as young Walton Simons! Or Anna Navarre?
