So, what does everyone think of this?

Personally, I am currently completely unsure what to think of it. It could still, possibly, be good even if it is an Ipad game.

[sub]Part of me also wonders if it's them trolling, but eh.[/sub]

Obligatory "I never asked for this."

Well that's disappointing.

It really does just look like HR but worse and portable. I guess it's nice to see some not-indie but not-AAA games coming out, but I can't see any kind of good response to this.

Bring it to the Vita and I just might buy it. I liked Ben Saxon's character from the book, and I wanted to see what happened to the guy after The Icarus Effect. I'm also glad to see that the art style has been retained, but like I said I'd prefer to play it on an actual video game console with buttons.

Hoo boy, well that hype backfired spectacularly on them, didn't it.

Hell, it might even end up being good for an iPad game, but when people were perhaps getting themselves hyped for a new full game, an iPad game just ain't going to cut it.

Oh dear me. Dearie dearie me. I'm just thankful that I was barely aware of this. Otherwise I'd be severely disappointed right now.

This is the point where I'd usually say something along the lines of, "Hey, it actually looks kind of fun." But it actually just looks like DE:HR, but stripped down to fit on an iOS device and with controls of suspect reliability.

Once again I am taught the value of not following hype. Needless to say I'm disappointed, not Invisible War levels of disappointment but still, you dangle a new Deus Ex game in front of me and then giveme an ipad game.

Handheld gaming is the future...in Japan. SE is literally taking two and two together and attempting to tap into that market. Of course, a VITA version will be nice.

Haha, you know, there is always some kind of backlash/shit storm happening in the video gaming industry. It's never boring.

Then they could've chosen a better franchise than Deus Ex, seeing as how Human Revolution sold quite poorly in Japan according to vgchartz and the original Deus Ex was never even released in that country. I haven't found anything on Invisible War's Japanese sales, but I'm guessing that's in indicator that it didn't sell all that well. I don't think Deus Ex has a lot of appeal in that market, mobile or otherwise.

I also wonder how they're going to translate the series' relatively complex and open-ended gameplay fans will expect to a mobile platform. My guess is they aren't and it'll end up similar to the Mass Effect mobile game: somewhat enjoyable, but very simplistic and linear compared to the console games.

First the WiiU exclusive Director's Cut and now this. I'm very disappointed in them and hope someone takes the franchise away from them. I have an Android but I definitely won't buy this game even when it's released, because this crap is definitely not what Deus Ex is about.

The name of the game fits it perfectly.

Wow. This is the very first time the Deus Ex title has been put on something that I feel absolutely no excitement for. I guess I can now officially say that Deus Ex: Invisible War is no longer the biggest disappointment in the franchise for me.

Yeah... fuck mobile gaming. Guess this one will have to be watched as a Let's Play for me, 'cause I'm sure as hell not going to spend money on that.

I have no problem with Deus Ex on a tablet.

What I do have a problem with is them hyping this up, only for it to be some shit for a tablet. The way they were hyping that up it seemed like it was a real game, not this bollocks.

EDIT:

Got a giggle out of this too:

I love how they hyped the announcement. Did they honestly believe that Deus Ex fans would be excited for an iPhone game?

Interesting, I hope they bring it to Android or the Vita. Ben Saxon was a pretty decent character.

Oh God, I can't stop laughing. How did they think this was a good idea? Hyping up a game only to make it an iOS?

Not to mention the game's basically an engine port keeping most of the art assets.

Damn it Adam! I thought you were ready for this! -David Sarif

Seriously though, they at the very least need to make a PS Vita version of this. It'd be good for both the game and system.
